Which is why it is going to Monterey!

It's the best restoration I've seen.

Much better without: (I still need to install the cladding on the bottom of the door skin itself, looks a little funny without it)

Actually, we just did a complete paint on an '89 and the client specifically wanted the cladding on the bottom of the door left off. Very popular thing to do in Europe (which is where he got the idea).....and I think it "outlines" the door, much better.

I love it!

It doesn't look terrible without the door cladding, but I do think I prefer them installed if you're taking votes.

No, this one was done by Greg's guy up in Hawaiian Gardens. (I'm sure there's an interesting story behind the name of that part of town....)

My client isn't interesting in taking votes. He's pretty secure in what he likes and what he wants. He's got 4 of these cars, including a '91 with the GTS flare option.

We had to dig up a perfect rear window without a third brake light, for this car we just painted, too.

Since you' just rejected all of these GT's without any prices, you might want to tell us your budget for the perfect car you are looking for....so we can be of more help.

Or tell you what year Boxster you can suffer with....

It was no small task.....and I did the easy part....the drivetrain.

I told Rob several times we should have parted it out.

Perseverance my friend, thats what you have.
I am glad it went to you guys,
no one could have done it better.
And for all the BST you put into it you should keep it and use it

Actually, I was talking about Rob's GT. I trust that he's secure in his own decisions, too. Just more or less agreeing that I like the doors with the cladding.

While there are no easy parts, THAT is definitely not the easy part... for me!

my search is/was more geared towards the early cars, but i thought i'd consider the GT. i forget who is selling it, but one of the GTs is in the $55k range, so some pricing has been mentioned. that is [unfortunately] above my budget, which is more in the range of $18-20+k for an early 928 - knowing that will get me a very nice driver quality car. if i found a GT for something above that, i would have considered it. i've looked at GTs on and off for many years and i simply waited too long to get one without flipping a current car. a quick look at my cars will tell you i'm not necessarily a dreamer or a future Boxster owner. i had no intention to mislead the conversation.

Not to be-labor a point, it will be near impossible finding a GT in the $18k-$20k range.
If you want a nice driver that has a third pedal, I believe my '87 is a great buy for much less, even though you mentioned red is not your first color choice.
I don't think you'll find a manual S4 for any cheaper moving forward, similar to your thought on you should have bought a GT many years ago.
I do a lot of business in Plano and live in Houston as well, if that matters any.
