Spring Compressors Available in SF Bay Area?
Hi all,
I'm ramping up for my next project -- changing out the shocks in my '83, along with a few other refresh items. I'll need to compress the springs. Does anyone here in the Bay Area have access to a wall-mounted spring compressor? Or can recommend a shop who has one? I'd really like to avoid using the little clamp-on compressors with the adjustable nuts if at all possible, as they scare me. (I am aware that local auto stores rent this type for low cost or free, but I'd prefer something safer).
I won't be really digging into this for a few weeks.
Cheers and thanks in advance!
Rick

DIY or Die is a shop that will rent you lift space down in San Jose. They have a wall mounted compressor IIRC. They have practically any tool you will need.
It's a DIY shop that also has trained techs on staff. Check out their site http://diyordietech.com/

Great idea, never heard of them. Will check it out - THANKS!
Edit: Wow, I like this place. Two post lifts available and everything by the hour, not unreasonable either. Motor mounts are in my future! I see they even have a Hunter alignment machine. I’ll need a post-shock alignment for sure — DIY? I may have to look into that further!!!

I don't see rates posted. What are their rates like?
I wonder if I left a $lot on the table when we hosted DIY tech sessions in SoCal.

Dr. Bob, it looks like there’s a mandatory training class, and the basic usage fee is forty dollars per hour with a variety of discount packages available: http://diyordietech.com/diy-pricing/
