Default POC Las Vegas

Just thought Id post a few pics from today. I met up with 3 other Vegas locals...Bill, Phil and Frank at 930..left for the track at 10..and spent the day watching a pair of very fast 928s. IMHO, they must really PO some of the highly priced and funded cars/teams.

In a nut shell...20 some cars. Joe qualified 2nd..Mark 4th....Mark and Joe placed 4th and 5th for the race.. Their cars were VERY fast. Im sure they will chime in with details. More racing tomorrow.

#452 appears to be Mike Avitt from California.

Mark took 3rd today!
Joe i believed qualified 1st? (correct me on that) He was turning some great times in the AM apparantly ( i wasnt there for that).
Traction became a bit of an issue for Joe in the race ...spun..(no damage) and not enough time to catch up.

Great to see all of you both my self and Mark had a great time. I was hoping to finish front of THE GRAND MASTER OF 928 RACING (Mark A), but..but next time (took a coffe break during the race). Mark's fastest time in the race was 1:25 and my was 1:251.

I want to thank all the people who came out to support us and lend a hand. Luckily this weekend the cars were nearly flawless so there was very little to do. I think Joe and I learned a good lesson on tire compound choices. We have always bought the hardest compound and had good results but the temperature here was too cold to get them up to temperature and they were very difficult to drive on especially for the first few laps. Old Joe Fan pulled out all the stops this weekend and went quite fast. Maybe the student is becoming the master after all.

So what is the current lap record out there. I found this on the POC site but it looks old? And im not sure which track config you guys ran.

http://www.porscheclub.com/events/tr...urseOct103.htm

My son when he woke up today said.. " i wanna go watch Porshas race...."

I asked him what colors the cars were...he remembered!

"Marks white..Joes ziz wellow Porsha...and a black one too" he said.
I had to chuckle.

...."Daddy...i put straps on..Ok?"

Was it a quicker, uneventful trip home?

Great JOB Mark and Joe!!!!

If you want to know how fast the 1:25 time is, go look at the speed GT times from a couple of years ago when they where running the BFG tires.
If you want to know how fast mir mortal 5 liter cars should do, look at the fastest Touring cars. Nice to see all that 911 hardware. (literally, $200k cars and goo drivers in them !!) But nicer to see Mark and Joe run with them and get near the front. Joe, you could have done it!!!!!! whats up with the coffee break? Las vegas not fast enough to keep your interest for your 515hp now??

Wish I could have been out there

how is Mike Avitt??? Heard he may have had an off and some body damage. times?

MK
