New Boge/Sachs shocks, before I pull the trigger
Hi All
I'm riding around in a 1991 028 S4 with original Boge/Sachs shocks and it is well beyond time to replace them.
I don't want to dump money into Koni or Bilsteins and just want to go with original replacements
The best deal I've found on OEM Boge/Sachs shocks for the car (front and rear) is $499 with free shipping
https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Porsche...e/351662376150
Does anyone know of a significantly better deal? Thanks!

I suggest you also order new bump stops. Roger has all these items at a competitive price.

dont forget to add in the alignment ,
you will probably need all 4 bump stops as has been suggested fronts are different than the rears

If every 928 Owner in the US bought as many parts as I have purchased from Roger, 928 International and 928 Specialists over the years of owning 3 different 928s, they would all be retired today. They are all great to deal with but I am also supporting ME.
If any of them want to chime in and meet the best legit price I can find I'll be happy to support them further

Hi John --
I'm probably not helping with your "supporting me" campaign, but...
By the time the dampers need replacement, the tie rods/ends and the lower balljoints are almost undoubtedly due. These joints are spring-loaded so it takes a little effort with a pry bar and dial indicator to see play, if you need confirmation. New makes a very noticeable difference in steering and handling. I did mine at about 70k, and they could use replacement again with another maybe 50k on these. Do it while everything is apart for dampers, and save the costs of a second alignment.
Also --
If you haven't done so already, start the loosening process on all the adjuster sleeves by dowsing them in your favorite corrosion breaker fluid. If you don't have serious corrosion issues the 50/50 ATF and acetone blend will do fine.

FWIW if you replace the front shox its also a good time for motor mounts and trans mounts and oil pan gasket and oil change

Should I start my own 928 overhaul GoFundMe Page? LOL
Thanks Dr. Bob- you just gave me indigestion by pointing all that stuff out....After a torque tube, CV boots, Radiator, and intake refresh (and more) in 2018 I may have to take a breather on much more than the shocks! Nevertheless, I'll take a hard look at it!
Thanks
