I received the ECU ! Feels very nice, but I'll have to wait a bit to play with it :/

Right now I'm fitting that on the Boxster !

I bought a drill press to finish the fuel rails too

IT RUNS !!!

Nah I'm joking... I haven't touched it since the last time...

I was given an industrial steam cleaner, it will help me get rid of the smell inside the car and finish the cleaning of the engine and it's surroundings.

I used it to visualize the flow through the new intake at various throttle angle, I'll do a quick video to show, but the air is quite evenly distributed at WOT, only at part throttle the middle cylinders don't receive as much but given the accuracy of test, I'll take it ^^

I started looking for bucket seats, I found those : https://www.leboncoin.fr/equipement_...659359724.htm/ Which are no name brand but look quite good !

Or I have a frien that is selling 996 GT3 seats, I like their weird and unique design !

For wheels, I was looking at Group4 Wheels Campagnolo wheels : https://www.google.com/search?q=grou...ih=944#imgrc=_

But I don't know if 16" would look that good on the 928 (I'm probably going to run Toyo R888) and the 991 brakes I wanted to run won't fit in the 16's ... But god I love this design !

Since there is no way I'll keep the original fuse box for track driving, I found a universal 21 system fuse box with flashers for 110€ with harness.

I bought it, we'll see !

For the radiator, I can't reuse the old one, and 928 rads are expensive, so I'm probably going to run a modified Mishimoto Mustang radiator : https://www.mishimoto.eu/ford-mustan...ee=1&fep=11122
With an external oil cooler and two electric fans.
The expansion tank I don't know yet but probably a 928 motorsport one !

And finally, I bought a big drill press so I can do the fuel rails

That's all for now, I'm gathering parts and ideas

Thanks Carl !

I've red most of your website, but still have more to read !

Is there anything that you consider a must on a track driven 928 S ?

Hi guys !
So... I bought wheels I didn't need them... but for 400€, a set of used keskin KT2 was nice !

I'll be starting to put the car back together soon ! I'll have a new water pump next week.

I've received the new wiring harness, but first I want the car to run.

I've also become a distributor in France for a few new brands, and that will give me access to nice bucket seats to use in the 928

Water pump is in !

Had to put 5 helicoils...

I moved the car to have more room around, and bought some closet to put all the parts in cleanly (just kidding, it's still a mess...

and that's today.

Tomorrow I'll take care of the belt tensionner pulley and idler.
I also need a new boot for the tensionner... didn't catch that when taking it apart :/

The wheels turned out to be really bad ... I got screwed ...

I have a friend who is a drifter and a professional welder, I might team up with him for a nice cage and braces !

Seeing the car without the cover got me all pumped up ! I want to drive this thing !

I also had the chance to take a ride in a 993 GT2 (a real one, one of 52 !), and it's exactly the spirit I want to give the 928.

The minimum inside, simple, bare.

I didn't work too much on the 928 because I worked on this in my free time :

And other stuff... (no I can't touch the 918 )

So...

I should have the timing belt on by now right ?
Nah... this car is driving me nuts ahah !

Stock tensioner is fine, but the tensionner pulley is seized on the arm... I wanted to make my own tensionner... then I found the porken tensionner, I like the design, it's close to what I started designing, so I ordered one, hopefully I can get it quick (2 weeks lead time).

OK OK !
Belt's on by now, right ?

Got the Porken Tensioner, very nice part.

Aaaaand ... I got the wrong belt

Can I cry now ?

I should have the right belt before the weekend...

Oh this car is testing me !

Bought seats for the car !

I wanted to get racing seats (RRS ones), but I know that I usualle don't fit well in them, and since I'd like to take this on the road also, they aren't the most convenient seats...
So I found a set of Lotus Elise seats, wich are a great compromise : easy to get in and out, and hold you better than regular seats.
At 6kg each, it's also lighter than most racing seats !

Can't wait to receive them.

I'll have to make the brackets, but that's OK, shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks !
I'm so excited about this car ! I've spent almost all my lunch breaks to go back home and work on it, one hour at a time...

So, I left there last time :

I needed to fit the trigger wheel, but had no way to machine it... so I had to make a mount !

Drilling and tapping the aluminum block :

The block is bolted to an aluminum cylinder on the back to hold it in the lath :

I let the screws loose, and centered the wheel with a cone, then tightened the screws, this way the wheel is perfectly centered :

I first drilled it to 12mm to make room for my cutting tool :

then I enlarged it from 12mm to 32mm:

The result is perfect ! Exactly what I wanted !

Now I have to make the mount for the sensor itself !

I'm on something much less exciting at work...

Oh, and I found what radiators I'm going to use !
Turns out I became a Mishimoto distributor recently, so why not use them !
So, I'll use a Mishimoto circle track radiator that has about the same size as the original one, but with a much better cooling capacity and ... a LOT cheaper.
Same for the oil cooler, a mishimoto 19row cooler with it's -10AN lines and 928 motorsport -10AN adapters
The whole package should cost less than even the cheapest eBay radiator for a 928.
The downside is... nothing will fit right at first ^^

Great work! Look forward to further progress. What exactly did you use to clean the engine bay? I saw the steam cleaner, but figured some sorta chemicals were used too. I know trivial question lol.
