Default Looking for M28/43 or M28/44 complete engine

Title says it all. I'm looking for an '85/'86 Engine for a client whose engine had the intake redone....and not cleaned well enough.

I need something that runs/can be made to run. Not interested in junk.

What about this? Ad says that you know the car. Super cheap for the condition (based off of photos) if legit.

Greg if you did choose to buy the above car for the engine, I'd be in ($) for the interior as a whole.

I saw that ad. I'm not sure who the owner is, so I can't pull out the records.

Seemed like too nice a car to pull the engine out of and trash the rest.

I've got three cars here, with engine failure, from intake manifold blasting and painting. Two of these, including this one, were run until they seized. Both were done by "professional" shops. Two of the engines, are owned by the same client (that was a tough phone call to have to make, when I saw the second engine.)

The level of workmanship I see done, on these poor cars, is absolutely terrible. Many local shops (the smart ones) have completely given up on these cars and just refer 928 people to me. That's good for everyone. The shop can work on the cars that they specialize in and not thrash trying to figure out how a 928 works (or not figure it out), I can do the job once, the client can pay for the job once, and it's done.

The people that have to "hunt me down" for me to redo a job, the second or third time, are the ones I feel really sorry for. (Imagine paying to have your transmission "redone" for the second or third time.)

The reality of the 928 model is that the cars are not all that expensive (compared to what you get for the money), if they can be "brought up to reliable and safe specifications" the first time. If the jobs have to be done multiple times, the cars are ridiculously expensive and generally get "punted down the road" a couple of times.

I agree, too nice to part out. I would have guilty conscience parting a car like that out.

Greg I think this would be opportunity for you to make another no excuses needs-nothing Greg Brown special like you have done with the white GT that you are going to test on the market. In this one's case you could pull the motor for your client and put in one of your late model 6.5 liter stroker motors. Not sure how many S3s have strokers, but it would be cool!

Greg,
Brendan C. should have 1 or 2 85-86 engines under his workbench.

Well said Greg. That paragraph hits the 928 nail on the head.

Agreed. That's why I am paying attention and trying to get it right the first time.
