Porken chip on 85 32v manual
Hi Guys,
I'm considering putting a Porken Chip in my 85 s3 manual.
Among some other small technical adaptations it works best combined with an x-pipe.
There are a lot of different types available on the market.
I want to keep the headers and catback stock because I want to keep close to Porkens setup..
what x-pipe do you recommend on a 85 s3 manual?
thanks,
Xander

There's only one tried and true X-pipe out there that has been proven to work. The Ott/Lomas X-pipe. Roger @ 928'sRus has the best prices for those.

The Ott X works great as a stand alone mod, then adding PKen Chips w/ the S4 FPR, will even make it better (more Hp).
I have the above combo on an Auto and a manual, wouldn't go back to stock, (one has the Hi-performance CATS w/ the Ott-x).
I'd recommend doing the Exhaust First, then adding the Chips along with the S4 FPR(you need both).

PK Chips are not required. You will notice a lot of difference just running the X-pipe on it's own. With the PK Chips you will need a fuel pressure regulator also. Get the car running as it did from the factory, toss an X-pipe on and be happy

Thanks!
Did you dyno your 928s after x pipe + chips/S4 FPR?
how many HP did you make on your manual?

Being happy is a good thing
Doesn't it run too lean than?

I've literally just finished a full intake refresh on my S3. Ford injectors, new maf, cams timed perfectly, new O2 sensor and Ken's chips. The car is very quick. Stand on the throttle in first gear and it just lights the tyres to the point it leaves a cloud smoke behind you. Once it's hooked up it just pulls to redline without a hiccup. Never gets wheazy. Just gets stronger as the revs build. It is quicker than a GTS I've been in, I feel. I'll know soon as we will have a run. I haven't even got the X-pipe yet. I have however completely gutted the original pumpkin.

Am I correct the australian S3 has a slighly lower compression than the US version?
