Default rack reseal

I am in the process of resealing my steering rack ...have not yet gotten the parts but is there an exploded view of the rack seals , etc and a description of the part...I found an exploded view with the parts all numbered, but where can I find the description based on the numbers???...
THANKS

Hey Tom, here's my best efforts, out in front of the world, less then optimal rebuild thread.
If there's a description to that famous diagram I never found it -- to answer your question.

May the force be with you sir.

The 928's rack is very similar to the 944 rack so if you have questions about it you can probably get some good advice from a site called "Clark's Garage" (http://www.clarks-garage.com/), a wealth of information on the 944. There's a seciton in the workshop manual that discusses rebuilding a power steering rack that's largely applicable.

I am just finishing my rack reseal. Mine is an early rack and it seems there are some differences with later ones, like metal spacers that are replaced with nylon ones. As mentioned in my thread...

... despite the intimidating number of parts in the bag it is easy to separate them into piles and where everything goes becomes pretty obvious when you compare the old and new parts.
