WTB: Fuel Tank
Last year, I did a really stupid thing and put a crack in my gas tank with my floor jack. It didn't crack through (wasn't leaking), and I repaired it with a plastic epoxy and thought I was done.
Today, almost a year later, I smelled gas, and saw a spot on my driveway. Looked around and behold... my repair was leaking. It has been really hot the last few days, so I think pressure expansion and contraction weakened the "crack", and the epoxy just got eaten away by the fuel.
Anyway, I'm broke as heck from repairs on my other car, and can't cough up the $1200+ that 928Intl wants for a new one, so I'm asking if anyone has a good used tank for sale. Please PM me. Hope someone here can help.
Thanks!
Crack. It wasn't leaking last year (I don't think it went through), so I repaired it. Expansion and contraction over the year must have compromised it. Now leaking and getting worse (literally) by the hour.

Thanks 77Tony. 928Intl was the first place I looked, and all that popped up was a new one. Did another search by P/N and their used one did pop-up, so at least I know I can fall back on them if I can't find a Rennlister. Don't know why I didn't see the used one from my first search.

I've got several really nice ones.
New ones are currently not available....I gave my last new tank to Roger, for one of his clients.
$500. Already cleaned and ready to install. With tank.purchase, I offer installation package for an additional $50. New sender gasket, new fuel pump/strainer gasket, new gas cap gasket, and new factory foam that goes on the steel support....all the pieces required for installation. New stainer, new filler neck boot, new feed hose to pump also come in another kit.

GB price will be hard to beat - no more new ones until later in the year and the price will increase significantly.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback. Greg, I might take you up on your offer.
I will be dropping the tank this weekend and will assess. I have a buddy that does plastic welding, but he says he has to know the material that the tank is made of to ensure he can get the correct rods. I'll do a bit of searching as I recall I stumbled on that answer last year, but it's been awhile... does anyone off hand know what the tank is made of?
Thanks.

Thanks Mark. Sounds like an HDPE rod will work, but I'm not 100% sold on the solution based on where the crack is. Well, maybe I can repair it and keep it as a spare while I put in a replacement.
