I don't know the specific answer to your question regarding the "HS" trim code, but you may find some of this useful: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...a-picture.html
Interior colors from the 1988 Porsche Marketing brochure which includes the 911 Carrera, 911 Turbo, and 928S4 as it pertains to "blue" and "grey" show: a standard "blue" for leather/leatherette, a couple of "blue/white" pinstripes and a solid "blue" in cloth, a "blue" carpet and a "silver grey" carpet, and "venetian blue" leather and "venetian blue" carpet. There was also "silver grey" leather, several "grey-green" combinations, and "linnen" leather/leatherette and "linnen" carpet.
The standard "blue" almost looks more "blue/green" than blue. That doesn't get to what "HS" actually means, but maybe it helps a little.

The only reference to interior code HS for 1988 I can find is this thread, it's for an '88 Carrera but he's calling his interior Linen.
https://www.pca.org/tech/interior-color-code-hs
Porsche published a series of internal manuals (Bestellsystem- Handbuch) that list the color schemes for each model, that calls out the color of every interior panel separately. They're grouped by color, of course, and then the material of the seat covering (leather front/vinyl back, full leather, or cloth/vinyl). There does seem to be some code sharing among models of a given year, but some are unique to a particular model- for example, for 1992 928s with full leather seats in black/cashmere, there are three codes- YA, RQ, and RD. for 911 the codes are YA or QB. Very confusing.
There's a user on Pelican named javadog who judging by his posts must have access to the above handbooks, you might try contacting him for more definitive info for 1988.
Here's an example of one of the 928 diagrams from the 1992 handbook (below).

Probably one of the best threads I've seen on this came from the 968 community: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...a-picture.html
Although it doesn't help you specifically, that 2-character code is actually the material, configuration and color.
