It will replace the entire bolt-on tb section under the manifold

I will keep everyone posted.
What sort of timeline are you looking at for the intake?

Is it designed/sized for a 5.0 or stroker?

I own 2 x 5.0's. It will be for smaller displacement but not limited to 5L's. I'm hoping to have 2 TB options. A 90mm and 100mm.

Timeline? That's always the big question and don't have an answer. Currently I have a -10 tank screen pickup I'm trying to get done.
Just know that my 928's are currently my priority and not my 996 Turbo

What did you decide on design requirements? For example, must fit under stock hood, must be able to keep stock airbox location and oil filler, etc, etc?

Can you reveal the inside diameter of the runners as well as their length?

The entire project is still in its infancy. However, requirements will include; fitting under the hood and working with stock maf and air box. My goal is for this to be a better alternative to getting the stock manifold refinished during a refresh.

I'm going to start by designing it for the 6.54L motor, and then fit it to the 5.0L motor and see what we get.
I'd like to make one after-market manifold if I can that serves boith the 5.0 and the 6.5 if I can, not two.

Timeline: within the next year. Possibly 6 months.

I would be interested in an OEM intake, internally modified for better flow and power gain
I am thoroughly enjoying all the various replies and certainly would be interested in the proposed intakes mentioned here.

my original question was what can be done to the OEM intake for better flow. my initial curiosity started with this post from
upfixenderporsche: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...o-results.html

it seems that what was started and discussed in that thread was never specifically addressed.

I have read about extrude hone and abrasive flow machining, but have no idea what exactly can and should be done and
what the result would yield.

can anyone elaborate further on an internal modification for the OEM intake that would provide better flow and performance,
or is that just pie the sky stuff??

is upfixenderporsche out there of comment?? from what was written, it appears that he felt
he was on to "something" but never pulled back the curtain.

Paul, I think you should consider the whole intake tract, not only the manifold. The throttle body for example.

Ake, thank you for your input; I am not closed off to the entire replacement I will keep an open mind, for sure.

if it were possible, I would love to see facts and figures about specific gains with a modified OEM vs a complete new bolt on.

looking forward to continued posts regarding ALL options.
