Putting in new fuel accumulator, just noticed that the new one does not have the fitting in the top for the vent hose. Is this a problem? I bought it from Roger at 928srus... pretty sure he knows his stuff. Should I just leave the vent hose disconnected up there?

Got the 2 fuel pumps in today, along with the new fuel accumulator and filter. I'm still waiting on one of the fuel lines underhood from 928sRus, so not ready to go just yet.
Cleaned all the crud from the passenger rear wheel house while I had the wheel off -- clean factory paint in there. Hopefully these rotors will clean up, but I may need new ones.
Next up are the fuel lines in the engine compartment, pressure line on the power steering, and replacing both master cylinders, re-installing rebuilt rear calipers with new lines. Hope to be ready to fire it up next weekend.

All of your engine compartment stickers are in great condition, do not use any type of degreaser around then...or it will eat the lettering off them.
The coil wire just droops down in front of the D/S timing belt cover, not twisted around crossmember. My 84 has a little plastic clip that holds the coil wire to the timing cover, but my 78 doesn't...not sure when it showed up?
Nice work so far, keep up the good work.
I know you PMed me about some parts...was busy getting car ready for show...I'll revisit this after this weeks car show.
Also, start hitting those adjusting collars (on your coil-over struts) with PB blaster or WD40 now, you will appreciate the extra soaking time...when it comes time to change or adjust them.
Brian.

Just installed new power window switches and a new relay, and now the drivers side window is working, passenger motor needs a replacement. Anyone got a good one for a '78? Rebuilt the other rear caliper, just waiting on new pad retainer pins as I had to cut/ drill the old rusty ones out. Still waiting on the last fuel line from 928sRus. Hopefully it arrives before the weekend because I'm looking forward to starting it for the first time. New oil/ filter, new plugs new fuel system and clean fuel...
Another piece of good news: I located the original radio for the car, as the previous owner called me and said a guy bought a box full of car stereos at his barn auction -- same barn my car came out of. He realized after the fact that the Porsche radio was in there. He thought the guy would just send it to me, as it technically belongs with the car... no dice as he had already put it on Ebay, but I managed to talk him out of it for $100. Way better than the $1000 that 928intl wanted for one. No idea if it works though. Found all of the ***** and face plate in my parts box.

Here are some pics of the interior progress. Been cleaning the pasha with maguires interior cleaner. Installed the driver's door panel now that I know the window works. Still have to put the console in and replace the power window motor on the pass side.

Update : last fuel line finally delivered today after ordering 3 weeks ago... and they sent me 2 return lines. Both hoses are the same length and have female fittings.
Ugh. So far, not impressed with 928srus. Now I'll have to wait another week, IF they have the pressure hose in stock. Frustrated beyond belief... the car is ready to start otherwise. I'm thinking about making my own lines and getting my 300 bucks back. Can these be cut off and clamped just like the ones in the rear of the car?

You can make your own, as I have done with all 3 of mine, and have many orhers.
i will say tho, my piece of mind is not there. This, to me, is a temporary solution, at best, but will get you moving down the road.
once I have (1) of mine road worthy, it will be treated to a nice set of the real hoses.

Roger at 928'srus worked hard today with Greg Brown to get to the bottom of my hose issue. Should have the right one tomorrow night. Radio showed up today too. As described, started assembling the center console with clock and switches, etc. Can't wait to button up the interior, and get it running. Master cylinders are next after I get it running, and given their locations and accessability, I not looking forward to that job.
