Yup. Just wanted to see if anyone had something for less, since they don't really go bad.

Why do you want to install a strut brace? With your front 250 #/in springs, strut brace IMO is just for show. I have a 944 race car with front 500 #/in springs and no strut brace. The strut brace acts like a "tuning fork." Use the $ on some other upgrade.

I was thinking of a strut brace myself (I like to thrash the hell out of this thing on the street) but I've never thought there was a enough "flex" there that a brace would help overcome.

Mind you, this is my first 944, and only bean rod worthy for a few months.

They do look cool though.

I felt the effects of installing a strut brace more than any other mod.

+1, mine made a big and very noticeable improvement to handling by stiffening the front end up.

Honest question, what does spring rate have to do with strut tower flex? My understanding is that it's about lateral loads inducing positive camber. If anything, wouldn't stiffer springs induce more flex in the chassis because the springs are less compliant? I'm just curious, I'm not a suspension guru.

It's difficult to really know if and what a brace will give you, but I fitted an Aluminium one which probably does nothing much if at all.

Steel is stronger and if you it a style / version that has an adjustment you can at least apply some tension.

If you wanted to stiffen the shell and not add a heavy steel roll cage:

The Triangulated Aluminium bars I designed and fitted all have a left and right hand threaded Rod end on each pole, so they can be tightened to add tension and stiffen the shell.

This did and does have a significant noticeable effect.

^^ I put a simple bar across the mounting posts for the rear seat upper half and noticed it tightened things up as well.
