Found this thread while looking for info on a eco boost swap into a 911...
Probably not going to do it, but interesting reading nonetheless.
As far as what's possible if these nutters can do this, I'd say the sky's the limit...

I moved the whole drive train forward 30mm in my V6 swap. I had to cut the lugs off the back of the torque tube, and make a dent where the back seat used to be. On top of the, I sectioned the shift rod and made a threaded portion so I could adjust the length. The shifter is held on with clamp since the bolt holes are too far away after all that. A day of work at most, and it make trans in/out even easier.

Not sure if this is of any value but, there seems to be lots of interest in swapping an Audi 1.8 turbo into the 944. MotorWerks kit aside, you can follow the road less traveled at https://rennlist.com/forums/general-...o-a-944-a.html

Sorry to come in and re-revive an old thread, the ecoboost swap is something I'm currently pursuing. I managed to get a mostly complete drivetrain from a mustang at a decent price, and I'm wondering, outside of hood and firewall, what all the issues people have found with this. The fabrication work or $ requirements don't bother me too much at this point, I've already decided to commit. If you can, go ahead and lay the problems on me all at once, I would appreciate it.

My hunch says this is probably the biggest hurdle to overcome.
