Why do you assume any honda owner is a ricer?
It's possible to make a civic that beats an S2 around a track, but the comment that started this discussion was about an 8v 944. The S2 has a better engine, suspension, brakes, and tranny than an 8v.

I AM NOT A RICER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE THAT TERM! Just becuase I have a Honda doesn't mean I am a rice boy. If I lived near you buckshot I would give it to you on the twisty roads, or at least die trying.
Also 944s2nut. It is not a civic. It is a Prelude. About the only thing in common with a civic is that it is a Honda. I am not being sarcastic to you. I am still upset at the ricer comment.
Back to the subject now, I believe you all when you say Porsche is the best. That is why I want one in the first place. Yes, when I test drove even the 1500 dollar car it put a big smile on my face to be driving it. Sitting still was a thrill for that matter. As much of a beater as the car on Sunday was I still thought about trading just because I want one so bad.
As far as what type of driving I will be doing with the car. I would like to track it but where I live I doubt it will happen. I will be left to terrorize the back country roads of Southwest Mo. and North East Ar. These hilly and curvy roads are great and so many to choose from. Other than that it will get driven maybe 10 to 20 miles per week. I really don't care that the 944 is the "red headed step child" of the Porsche family or so that's the way Porsche see's it. I love the these car's and can't understand why so many people think I am nothing but a poser.

I think that the very title of your thread was the start of your problem. It's like one of us going to a Honda/Prelude/whatever forum and posting something like "Are all Prelude's slow???!!?!?!". Make sense? You were doomed before you started here...

Not knocking any other sort of car at all, as one of the cars here at our house is a very nice Civic.

Contact 944racing in Tulsa, and see if they have any nice 951s or S2s you can test drive. After driving one of those, you'll sell your Honda, extra kidney, or anything else you have to so you can buy a Porsche.
I've got an RSX-S and a 951. The Honda's great, but there's really no comparison.

After all this talk, I think I'll have to drive my 951 to work tomorrow, plus it'll help me get used to it again for Saturday's track session.

Tifo, I'm not on any Honda boards, I only visit this board. I should have added some more to my comment about should I be looking at a 951 or an S2 instead. That's my fault. I just made a broad general statement about 944's in general. I am trying to remedy the Honda problem with a P-car but I haven't found the right one yet.

Man, this thread is crazy. We need to hear some more. At this point it would be a shame not to go for 10 pages. Anyone up to the task? Can you add some more input that we all can learn from?

Oh! by the way I saw 3 944's tonight. One in Miami, one in Fairland and the third in Grove. Two were red and one was Gold. Are any of you on the board? The one in Fairland was really nice probably 85.5 guards red with black Fuchs. Looked like a N/A. One thing I would like to know is what is your favorite color and wheel combo. Mine is #1 Alpine white with color keyed Fuchs. #2 black with black Fuchs and so on and so on.

I saw a 968 2 days ago that was a silver/light blueish color. It was the best looking 968 that I have ever see. I think that is my favorite color on a 968. On a 951 I would say Red with black leather, Fiske FM-10 17" wheels. That would be my ideal 951...

It's the "stripper theory"------it's right there in front of you, but you can't touch it. Just keep handing it money..........

LOL!
