Hello,

I want to experiment with making a mold to replace the rubber in late model single piece transmission mounts.

Would anyone have one that is beyond its useful life that they wouldn't mind sending me so that I can measure and design a mold?

I don't want to take my car apart to measure and experiment with.

Longer shot - Anyone know the durometer on the stock mount before 30 years of use?

I have one but it'll be a couple of weeks before I can send it out. If you don't get another offer by then I'll dig it up for you.

Just curious - have you seen the "urethane fill" trick?
It is really a nice solution...makes the trans very stable, shifting feels better, no more NVH than stock.

I had heard about it.
I forgot how much metal there was around the mount, and after looking at the write-up even if I made a mold it might be tough to beat how well just taping around it works.

The stuff I was planning on using was a ~55A durometer silicone compound.
