Default 2.5 16v to 3.0 16v flywheel

Swapping a 3.0 16v S2 engine into a 2.5 16v. Can I use the stock S flywheel with the S2 engine. Already have wiring and ecu.

yeah, they are the same. The 16v's shared that part and it has the unique trigger cast in to run the single ref/speed sensor. you can also use this to swap a 968 engine to the S/S2 driveline without having to use the 968's bellhousing/dual mass flywheel and torque tube. Its how my S2 is setup with the 968 engine.

If the bellhousing is notched (or if you notch) make sure you get the retrofit kit for that. If you don't have the new bracket with the protective sleeve for the ref/speed sensor, the motor will kick back when being started as the magnetic field from the smaller turbo/late starter will interfere with the sensor and confuse the DME. Ask me how i know

Don't forget to add the vibration damper/harmonic balancer if you don't have one already.

its right, thats the 16v single sensor mount. was there an aluminum sleeve around the sensor? or does this surround the sensor when installed to the point of just the tip poking out of it by a few MM? if not and if the BH is notched it can cause the kick back problem.
