Oil wise I'm guessing? I rock 15w-50 mobil one during the summer. Enough ZDDP and available, walmart has 5qt jugs for around $23-25

I use Mobil-1 15W-50, because I wasn't able to buy 20W-50 conveniently. It meets the ZDDP requirements for this engine.

You're best off doing a search and reading all the threads - so much good info already posted.

amsoil is good, however a lot more expensive and less available. I can get the M1 15-50 i most places if i need some.

Buy 2 extra quarts to keep in the car, so you can top off as needed.

A lot depends on how cold it is going to be when driven and if it will be doing track days or what. In Illinois I think 20w50 should not be used unless it is full synthetic or the car is stored all winter. On the street 5w40 synthetic is a nice year round oil IMO and 15w40 is good in milder temps. I use a lot of Shell Rotella, sometimes Mobil if I find a sale. If you are paranoid about zinc you can add some STP but I think the modern formulas have replaced zinc pretty effectively. I still add some STP.

Stick with synthetic: The turbo gets and stays pretty hot at shutdown, so conventional oil in it may cook and turn into tar, which then clogs the line and starves the bearings of both lubricant and coolant. Let the car cool down before parking it, and run synthetic oil to avoid this problem.

I use VR1 20/50 conventional for years and years. Have done track days and winter days. On 951s with 50k miles to 150k miles with good effect.

I also use it in my spitfire race car and my Jaguar MK2. So, I always have lots of it around. But I have not had (knock on wood) any oil related issues.
