Default Would a turbo bumper fit on a 87 944 n/a

I am getting the turbo "look" for my 87 n/a. I think the place was called fiberwerks. Now i was told that the REAL turbo bumper would not fit a 87 n/a and that the only one that fits is the custom bumper they have at fiverwerks. Is this true?

aye. the differences are mainly in the front wings and the badge panel. The light panels differ a bit too but this isnt much.

The factory Turbo bumper will not mate up to the N/A cars. The fenders and nose panels are different. There are many places that sell the turbo look knock off panel usually made of fiber glass. There are many places that sell these shop around.

Lars is right, you need the conversion kit. And I'm pretty sure it takes quite a bit of work to make it fit correctly. I know the GT racing ones do.

The next item(s) you need are the turnsignals and fog/driving lights. The lenses aren't too bad in cost, you can get the true Euro fog/driving lens & reflectors for around $125 each if you shop around, but the rear housings they screw into are a rape job. Better start calling the parts breakers. If I recall correctly, Performance Products wants over $700 for the lighting on fog/driving and turnsignal/running light kits for the conversion you are thinking about.

well, the bumper at fiberwerks is really nice, and it uses the stock n/a lights, you just have to move them around a little.

If you want the turbo/S2 look you really want the far superior driving/fog lights. No doubt about it. While this is just me, I wouldn't bother unless I got the uprated lighting.

Ya thoughs Euro Fogs are $$$$ but great. They have better light then my head lights. Also I dont know if they still make it any more but there were 2 kinds of turbo front bumpers made for the n/a one was a fiber glass the other was a Polyurethane fiber glass mix or something to that extent. I know that later was about $850 But supose to be a much thicker more durable material. Also the turbo nose job is not for the faint hearted when all was said and done mine came to to $2135 with install lighting prep and paint plus the cost of the materials. IMHO there are not that many turbos V.S. N/A's and it really give the car a more modern look so it is worth the cost.

RobbyK, If you want to see lighting, then you need to go with my FullBoat Headlight Package. Which I'm getting ready to make another run of. The fog/driving lights don't hold a candle to an overwatted, well wired set of E-Codes. It will probably come in at $370 or 80 now, with the shipping, extra set of 90/100 H4s, everything. The Euro v USD exchange rate sort of hit me on pricing.

That will blow your socks off. Combine with the euro driving lights wired up good and you will be lighting up over a mile of highway better than a 747 coming down. No lighting problems after that, just ask Rennlisters that have them.

Ill get the fibrewerks bumper next week in the mail, one thing i had a question about. I was looking at some pictures of a n/a bumper and a fibrewerks bumper, does the whole front end of the n/a come off to put the fibrewerks on or just the lower part?

the whole bumper is removed meaning that now you actually dont have a bumper....i worked on nine-44's car installing a fiberworks nose and all you have is a braket on ea side holding the bumper to the framework.

No, it wont wobble, it'll just crunch if you so much as get tapped by another car. After all thats what bumpers are for.
