Maybe, but at least with eBay it will be a registered user with some feedback. There a trail back to the buyer. With Craigslist the trail goes back to a pay phone.
Taking a picture of the guys driver license is a good idea. But you do know that every kid under 21 has a fake ID.

I sold a car on Craigslist in 3 hours (cash in hand) to the first person who called me.

Just sayin'

On the other hand, I would take some better pics and get it listed in more places.

Car looks great and sounds like you have taken care of it, so you should list out more details around the maintenance you have done.

Also the burgundy interior probably isn't on the top of everyone's list. Looks great though and I think you will sell it.

Craigslist is always worth a shot, but in your case I have to disagree with the others and say national exposure is your best bet (ebay, autotrader, PCA classifieds). There aren't a lot of people out there looking for a primo NA, or willing to pay more than $3-4k for one. I think your price is fair, considering how nice the car is, but you need to find the right buyer. Especially with that interior. I actually like it (I have a black/burgundy turbo) but the chances that someone local would be the right buyer is less than if you go nation wide.

That's a beautiful 944 and it WILL sell. These aren't a new Camry so it can take some time to find the right buyer.

I second the BAT comment. Their auctions are getting lots of publicity and lately some 951's have brought some very strong prices.

Craigslist is how I've sold most of my cars. If you aren't comfortable inviting people to your home, meet in a public place. It is fairly easy to screen a serious 944 buyer over the phone.

eBay can work well but you need excellent photos accompanied by a very thorough description.

There is a police sub-station not too far from my house. There are rarely any cops there but the parking lot is full of 50-60 cop cars and cops come and go at random times. That is where I meet people to sell or buy things off craigslist. If someone doesn't want to meet me there, I have to wonder why. If they will meet me there, I'm still cautious but I'm guessing they are legit.

I think its a beautiful car and I'd love to have it. Even thought about offering to trade or sell my one owner all original 91 MR2 to get your car. I think your car looks fantastic! Do you have a picture of the options sticker that's affixed to the body near the driver's side tail light?
