Default Do cookie cutters fit on a 924S?

Do cooke cutters fit onto a 924S without modification? I know the 924S is 23.3 offset, but are cookie cutters from an early model 944 52.3mm or 23.3?

Cookie cutters are 23.3 mm offset, also refered to as early offset. I don't know what offset a 924S has, but if you are correct about it also being 23.3mm then they will fit. So will Fuchs for that matter but I don't recall ever seeing either of these wheels on a 924S.

is this true??? i thought i read that even though the 924S is a late car '87+, it still had an early offset to compensate for the not wide fenders?

and yes, im basically re-asking if cookie cutters from an early offset 944 will fit on a 924S.

they had the early suspension components so they had early offset suspension, but the wheels are late offset, so they sit further in towards the center line of the car (making them fit in the narrow fenders) so early offset would bolt up of course, but they would stick out way too far...

Bingo. You can run cookie cutters if you do a CGT replica though

You probabyl can get them to work, but need lots of negative camber a some rolling of the outside fender to get them to fit. Tough and may look odd, but can work. I believe Lemming is running Fuchs on his 968 power 924S. That is a track car of course so he adjusted as needed to make them fit.

You got it Joe, Manning's old 924S is now my track car and I've run late AND early offset on the car, the early offset rims happen to be 15x7 Fuchs with max rear neg. camber and rolled fenders to work. For the track I now have late 15x7 phones all around and this works better.

The problem is that the wheel is too wide. If you use 225/50/15 tires where the profile is lower and run more than -3 degree camber (pretty much a race car setup unless you like excessive inside treadwear). If you run 15x6 cookie cutters, it will work fine.

even if the cookies are early offset?

just to be sure, late offset started in '87 right?

Late offset 52.3mm started in 87 though the 15x7 wheel will fit under the wheel well if you get low profile tires and negative enough camber under the car. The late 15x7 wheels fit with 215/60/15 tires with no problems so -1/2 inch from the width from the outer lip then add 30mm (slightly more than 1 inch offset 25.4mm = 1 inch). The 15x6 cookie cutters are hard to find (I only have 1) and I am not sure whether they are even the early offset as the early 911s may have "late" 944 offsets. If I get bored I may try that 15x6 wheel on the 924s.

I doubt anyone would go through the trouble to find 15x6 cookies to put on a 924s anyways. I would find a 924 turbo 16x6 wheels as they fit better and appears to be forged. I have a set sitting in my front yard.

15X6 early offset cookies look darn good on a 924 and a number of people on 924.org have done this, including me. They give the car a bit more aggressive look and if you like the black center and polished lip then they are a good way to go on the 924. I'll be selling a set with very good condition BF Goodrich rubber on them very soon. I'm doing a CGT conversion and already have the fuchs to replace the cookies.

Heres a pic after bead blasting but before painting.
