Are these original Porsche rims?
These 17"x255 rims came on a 968 I purchased awhile back but I don't what they are or if they're originally Porsche delivered wheels. The stamps on the back indicate they were made in Italy with a date of 1996.
Anyone recognise them? Thanks.

Aftermarket - look like a multi piece wheel based on these wheels: http://www.wheelenhancement.com/?t=WheelDetail&id=33
Look similar to Kinesis Supercups but they would be stamped Kinesis and Made in USA.

If they are Italian, they may be Campangolo (sp?) wheels..They make lots of gear for bikes and Ferrari wheels. Sorry about the spelling..Commonly referred to as "Campy" in bike circles. They did a lot for Ferrari in the '70's and 80's. Perhaps others as well.

Well, if they're made in Italy, they could be real Speedlines. But the hub surface, lack of 993 P/N, and style of through bolts all say they are a replica.
Real ones:
The local Speedline experts probably are on the 964 or 993 forum however. They might also be able to identify the brand.
Probably not Mille Miglia, don't think they made these. Probably not Campagnolo either, they're mostly for Italian marques. But, replicas they could be. Only a bajillion companies make replicas of these wheels.
They could be RH, they made these in abundant quantities. If so, they are the 40-bolt version, which means something I think.

One of the local Porsche club guys got very excited when he was looking at them a few months back, but when I asked him why he just said they were "unusual" and asked if I wanted to swap them... hmmmm!
They are real 3 piece components too, not fake like some I have seen. I actually pulled one apart to check this. I agree they could still be replica's but very detailed ones if they are.

Thanks, you've pretty much summarised what I was thinking. They are 40 bolt which is one of the oddities of these wheels along with the sunken bolt holes which I can't match to anything else I have seen so so far. If they were the same as a gazillion other fakes then I would have expected to find plenty on the web to match.

I wrote 40-bolt means something, because RH made replica Speedlines in both 38-bolt and 40-bolt form. One is rarer I think. But now that I think about it, RH may have only made replicas of the earlier Cup Speedlines.
These are the earlier versions, delivered on select 964 and 968 models.
Those earlier ones are based on the 964 Cup wheel.
FWIW, here is a pic of the real versions (later Speedlines for 993) on the car they were delivered on, the 993 RS.
If you search 'replica Speedlines' in the 946 and/or 993 forums you might find some more information.

I have not seen these before.
The factory speedlines, either the 3.6 Turbo versions, or the 993 RS versions are only in 18", and the majority of the replicas are also 18". Offhand I only recall the kenesis supercups being available in 17", which these are not.
The rims mounting behind the wheel center are also different than the Speedline configuration of mounting the rims in front of the wheel center.

They are clearly real multipiece wheels as shown with your picture of the inside.

I fitted the restored wheels to my regular daily driver 968 today. It's no 993 RS but they actually look pretty good I think.
I didn't realise until I fitted them that the offset of the front rims positions the wheels further out than the original, but they fill the wheel arch better. I didn't notice this on the other 968 the wheels came from so I am wondering now if the MO30 suspension & brake option on this car pushes the hubs further out. Anyone know?

Looks great!
It's not? Fooled me!
