Default Oil cooler hoses on Turbos

My 944 is leaking oil from the hose on the oil cooler. I believe only turbos and S2s have the cooler. My leak is on the lower hose, part number 951 207 111 03.

See #3 in the picture.

Are these two hoses interchangeable?
Are there other ways to replace these hoses other than paying $150+ ?
Thanks for any help.
PS: I am in the market if you have one around.
Have a great day.

Take host hoses to a hydraulic shop that deals with construction equipment... They should be able to rebuild the hoses with new rubber and ferrules for maybe $100 total or less.

To answer your question these hoses are not interchangeable and from looking at pictures the ends vary from model/year. My hoses were sealed with o-rings on both ends which were leaking and needed to be replaced. If they are leaking from the crimped ends or fittings any hydraulic shop wort it's salt can make them using the existing fittings. The problem would be these are molded hose and route through some tight spaces. What you will end up with is a straight hose that may rub the power steering pulley. Hope that helps/makes sense.

+1 getting custom made hoses to fit can be tricky. I had mine made with the fittings in the same orientation as the originals, and this proved to be a mistake. The high pressure hose was very difficult to route. It might have been better to get a piece of straight hose and figure our the optimum routing and orientation for the fittings, then bring that to the hydraulic shop. But if I was doing it again I'd probably just buy the OEM hoses tbh.

If you want the least headache, just buy the OEM hose.

If you want to get yours rebuilt, I'd highly recommend first cutting yours open to extract the end fittings, then put on your own hose (any hose from the store is fine) just to mock it up, to figure out what length you need, and what orientation the fittings should be. Then clamp the ends, and take it to the shop to be remade just like that. Because the new hose won't route the same as before, since it's straight hose.

Thanks for the help, guys.
I think I'll try to look for a replacement part now.
Correction: my problem hose is actually # 951 207 113 03, which is #2 in the pic (not #3). Note that it attaches to a hard line.

Please contact me if you have one for sale!
Thanks.

While stainless hoses are nice I recommend getting regular rubber ones instead....they are much easier to work with if you have to remove them or move out of the way etc

There does not seem to be a lot of information about these hoses on the internet.
When replacing these, is there a crush washer to replace as well? If yes, what size?

My research tells me I'll be able to get the hose off without removing any other part. Is this true?
I'm also reading I'll need a 27mm and 32mm wrench.

Can someone confirm the crush washer question? Thanks!

I dont think there is any crush washer on the hose but the washer is on the fitting between the cooler and fitting see attached pict, if you didn't remove the fitting you wont need a crush washer

Same applies for the engine block side.

I was changing the oil today, and had all the oil out when I decided to try to get my leaky hose off. I had heard that you can remove the hoses without removing other parts, ie the oil filter housing. However, this is not possible with normal tools as you need to counter a 27mm nut against a 32mm nut in an area that's too small! I thought I could do it, but the fact is clear. For instance, the exhaust heat shield restricts your options.

I had to continue with the oil service and leave the old hose on until next time.
