Default 968 Turbo RS adjustable Wing who wants one???

Ok friends and neighbors here is the scoop:

I have been working on various projects, if you have seen my posts you know this. Especailly with fiberglass. While everyone showed intereste in the hoods, a lot of people wanted me to see if I could do a wing, well we are working on it, but in the mean time check this out.

Well through talking to everyone under the sun I could find and every retailer and wholesaler I could find here is what I know

I can get the 968 Wing setup for the 944 for 650.00 Yea I said 650.00 US dollars. Now I could inturn ship them to anyone who wants one if we order enough the price may go down a little.

Compare that to GT RACING and all the others everyone directed me to and the ones I found on my own. You know if you looked how much these go for, and I bet you still want one.

650.00 compared to 1000-1500 big difference. Now If I ordered them in bulk I could save a little, I am working out the details on a discount, but before I try and work that I need to know who wants one.

Understand, this is from a retailer who did theirs off of a 968 Turbo RS AND HAS BEEN PRODUCING THEM FOR SOME TIME.

We (my friend and I) have not completed production on the hood or wings, we have each had other projects that took a priority, but by next month we should have both the wing and the hood available locally and the price should drop considerably.

We might delayed again in production, as it is a side buisness for both of us, especially since he does everything but porsche, and I am the one pushing him to branch out. We havent gotten to serious about it.

Well I am serious about having the wing on my car, since I cant use the one I bought for my car since we are using that for the mock up, I need to order one to put on my car. I got a great deal lined up and the more I order the better it will be.

THE WING IS SURE TO BE A HOT ITEM AND OUR GOAL IS TO SELL THEM FOR MUCH LESS THAN 650. BUT WHY WAIT FOR US TO TURN OURS OUT, YOU CAN GET ONE NOW.

I will post pictures later today and I will be posting everything to www.x3m944.com.

So WHO Is interested, I am looking at ordering as soon as possible (as in 1 Week). IF you are interested, let me know here or send me email or a PM.

QUALITY IS NOT AN ISSUE. THEY ARE AN ESTABLISHED SHOP DOING PARTS FOR ALL MODELS OF PORSCHE FOR YEARS.

IF YOU WANT ONE LET ME KNOW THE MORE WE ORDER THE BETTER THE PRICE.

Thanks
Wes

The kit comprises of:

Upper bridge spoiler either one piece non adjustable or 3 piece adjustable.

Two side strips that run along the length of the rear windscreen.
Small rear valance that attaches to the bootlid to create a bottom lip/platform for the bridge spoiler.

The sides strips are attached as normal they can be drilled and screwed through into the upper spoiler using the existing holes in the lid.

The upper bridge spoiler is attached with screws and then a silicone sealant should be used around it to make it look good.

The lower valance spoiler is also screwed in place and then sealed should be sealed with silicone.

This is all standard work for a bodyshop, no specialist skills are needed. The kit doesnt come with screws just the parts. With one exception, the screws to adujst the middle section of the wing are included.

I think it would NOT be possible to mount it to a stock rubber 944 lid, but if you have the fiberglass or extended lemans etc.... it might look ok, but mounted to a rubber spoiler it would proably look rough.

WELL....??????

Check out:

http://www.v-zweeden.com/968001.htm

365 Euros and according to:

http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi

equals $412. Trying to find out the shipping amount but I would hope it to be less than $230.

$230
+412
_____
$642

Non-adjustable is $340

Haven't purchased it YET but am considering it for a spring upgrade.

V-zweeden has a lot of great products:
http://www.v-zweeden.com

They are in the Netherlands, I don’t know whom they use for shipping, but I checked UPS and FEDEX using their postal code and came up with between 250-300 depending on actual weight and size. Maybe they use someone else and can ship cheaper. I don't know. If they get back to me I will let everyone know.

I used http://finance.yahoo.com/m3?u
To check the rates on conversion. They do have the cheapest, but I don’t know about shipping. Of course the Euro has been going down for the last few weeks, so that’s in your favor, but if it swings the other way...

I have sent them a few emails, yet have not received a response and from what I gather they respond to them once a week, at least that’s what their website says. I want the wing for my 84 so I can get it painted, I don’t like a company that doesn’t get back to you in a reasonable time, It's been a week, it is possible they could be busy, and maybe I could call, but I would expect some sort of answer to an email, given the website says you should email them with questions.

According to other rennlisters, they do sell a great wing, but no hardware for mounting. I checked on the Porsche official mounting hardware and the price was insane, for some strips and screws, better if you can reuse the ones already in your car. I hope they get back to me with specifics and a shipping estimate, because like everyone else I want to go the cheapest route with the best quality I can get for the price.

IF anyone has heard from them then let me know.

For the supplier I found I am in the same boat, the price is based on conversion of to US Dollars, another reason for not waiting. I think that 650.00 is a good price for importing to the US, if we can get enough people interested, then we can drive the price down, of course the longer you wait, the more likely the price may be effected by conversion rates, regardless of who you go with. Then again it could get better and I for one would love that, the more money I save the more I have to spend on other things, like a set of koni yellows.

I know shipping in the US is bound to be cheaper, as I would be shipping them from Miami, FL

The Bottom line is we need a supplier here in the US, that doesn’t charge some crazy price and has a nice kit. In the absence of that I found someone that I am ordering a kit from and they indicated that if I had multiple orders, the price and cost of shipping would go down accordingly.

Now I know once I get ours in production we can compete with anyone and I see our price being in the same range as v-zweeden, with shipping being reasonable, do to our location in the US. We will not be setup for production of ours for another month, I want to get my 84 setup and painted before then.

Well the pictures will be up on the website in about an hour.

If you can sell them for $400 then they will sell like hotcakes. I'll put off a few other purchases to get one of those after Christmas.

OK people the pictures should be available at the website. It's not perfect but its a start, I set up a email to for all you rennlisters with a wish list for a part or idea, its on the website.

If you are interested in ordering one as mentioned above you may contact me either through rennlist or through the website.

As for our products, I will let everyone know when we are ready for going into production and taking orders. That as I said before will be a little while.

Can't say I like the wing in the picture, looks like the thick plastic Fisher Price stuff I bought for my kids when they were younger. IMHO

I hope your version will be better

HAHAHA, yea now there is the ultimate in crosss over products, porsche parts brought to you by fisher price.

David, which picture are we talking about? The close up or on the car. I am sorry if they aren't that great, I have to work with what they supplied me sorry if it doesnt transfer well on the website.

The pictures don't do them justice, the wing is afer all a copy of the orginal 968 Turbo RS.

Maybe I should post a picture of the 968 Turbo RS for comparison.

The wing on the car, if these are a copy of the original then it will look great and is just not showing up well on the picture.

OK, I have an aftermarket regular 968 wing on my car that I got from KLA (same wing that is being offered thru 944racing.com). You mention in the initial post that the side trim pieces can be drilled and screwed to mount to the glass (?). I would suggest embedding the studs in them during production like the factory and KLA units.

If you really want to do something trick, make BOTH a 968TRS and a standard 968 wing. They both would have the same side trim and lower rear lip pieces, the only difference being the two wings that go between them. Then you could capture the business of the crowd that thinks a TRS wing is too much, yet keep production costs down since all the other little bits are the same (although, for the record, I love the TRS wing).

We may do a standard 968 Wing, if their is a demand for it.

Right now, going into production of the 968 TRS wing is based on all the previous requests we got, when we inquired about doing a Hood.

We got more requests and suggestions like yours for a 968 TRS wing than for hoods, although people are still interested in hoods, they seem to want a 968 inspired hood for the 951. Which we will get to, but its not top on the list.

Their is a lot that people want to see, so do I. The Hard part is I have to convince my friend to spend the time in his shop working on these little projects as he calls them. He is a Mopar man, and makes a lot of stuff for the Detroit 3, Muscle car and Street Car crowd, for just about all makes, he even does full bodies and front ends for some cars, no rice stuff No imports directly, though I think some people may buy scoops and such for their imports. He does some impressive stuff, just finished a 3 window coupe body, its a work of art.

Work on the Porsche line of products is secondary to his main line of buisness and I think without me he would stick to what he knows sells day in and day out.

The best way for anyone here at Rennlist to get us to do a different product is to post responses and send me messages, I can share those with him and if their is enough interest then we can look at doing it.

Now Speaking of Demand, I have only recieved a small amount of interest in order a 968 TRS wing from the supplier I have lined up.

I appreciate that everyone seems more interested in waiting till we have ours ready, that really encuraging. I just wanted to say thanks, we are working on it.

In the mean time, as stated before I will be ordering a wing for one of my cars, got a great deal on the paint and powder coating, but have to have my car ready, so I can slide it in when my friend does some of the other work he has lined up. Big savings.

That aside, I still need to know if anyone else wants to order a 968 TRS wing with me, the more the better. I have 3 confirmed, need some more people if possible.

Also for those who asked, turn around time for deliver of product after we order the wings is 7-10 days.

Of course that will improve once we are in production.

Ok people keep the suggestions coming. Rennlisters are the Best and I for one am glad to get to know you all and your different tastes and points of view, its an enriching experience.
