That sounds good to me. I am bringing one of my buddies from work. Not a P-car guy but an all around good guy.

Doubtful, he has three little girls, might be hard to convince him to trade the family cars. Not to mention he has NO mechanical knowledge.

Hey, I can make that! Joyce and I would love to join in. I'll even try to bring the 951. Poor thing has sat silent since my daughters wedding on July 5th. With all the building on the weekends and the family emergencies I haven't even been in the garage in several weeks. Jeeze - I hope it's still in there.

Dad's doing great by the way. He's still grounded though. He had a doctor visit yesterday and got the proverbial "clean bill of heath". Still can't lift anything heavier than a book for another month, and he can't do any physical labor until after the first of the year. I think the real bummer for him is the "no driving" rule. Not sure when that comes off.

That's good news Keith. (about your dad)

The more people we can get out, the more fun it will be. If Becki has the night off, I'll bring her. Then Joyce would have a porsche-widow to commiserate with.

Hey guys...

I really want to drive the 944 to the get together, but the stalling thing is still happening and driving me crazy (not to mention kinda dangerous!!)

Tried to drive it across town yesterday, did it 3 times leaving Kingwood. I really think it's some kind of ground/electical connection issue. Like a ground at the fuel pump. It seems to be when the rear end goes over a bump. Sometimes I can go over a BIG bump and nothing, and other times a seam in the pavement is enough to stall it. But it is almost always a bump, and always AFTER the rear tires go over it.

So me thinks I have some kind of loose connection that when "bumped" or "jiggled" looses power just long enough to shut down the fuel pump. As soon as I turn it off and restart, it always starts right up. I have tried the DME module by shaking, tapping and "jiggeling" and can't get it to stall.

Does this sound plausible? Is there a ground back by the fuel pump? I have looked at the Haynes and see a ground, but don't know if it ties into a ground, or grounds/terminates back at the pump.

Kevin, are you doing anything on your car Sat morning, or is this your daughters birthday weekend?

Geo, how is Kerry doing? and are you home Sat morning or working? Perhaps use your jack to get under here and check it out...

James, I wish I could help this weekend, but I gotta work.

Kevin has that b-day party this weekend, but I don't know which day. I think George is working too.

Yeh, I gotta go in Sat afternoon and don't get back till Tuesday morning.

Does my theory sound possible? Or, is there a possiblitiy the fuel pump is going out? Anybody that's replaced their fuel pump have an idea on the ground/connections back there, and shed some light on it for me???

It really "feels" electrical and since it starts right up after it happens I kinda dismiss the pump itself. I have actualy been able to push in the clutch, turn key off, turn key back on, pop the clutch and have it keep going....

Kevin, when do you plan to finish up on yours? Maybe I'll swing by today and grab the jack, and bring it back Sat before I go to work.

Hey,,,I'm trying to hijack this thread....What's this doing here????

JUST KIDDING.....

Maybe shrink the Porsche logo so it fits inside the state. Curve the text over and under the state. Add "have tools will travel" somewhere. Also don't know about using the Porsche logo at all, they are very tight with it nowadays. But, it's not like we are selling them on ebay.....

I like it. Think the font might look better in Porsche Script?
