Default 924 Carrrera Turbo Widebody

Not sure what they heck this is, but thought some may be interested. Me myself, know plenty about 944, 968s, but is this a real deal or some sort of weird replica kit car. Thought the 924 Carrera GT was rare?

If some one wants me to check it out, would be more than happy too. Def a project of love to bring this back if it is the real deal.

My gut says not the real deal. But then the inside of the doors looks like something the factory would use. Someone was ambitious. It looks like the roof was chopped, or is that just the image?

Man, you gotta like to work with your hands to take this project on.

Personally I would run away. Wrong glass, wrong mirrors, wrong spoiler, wrong bumpers. Somethings fishy. That wiper....

but many people would say that about my junk too. Subscribed to this post.

Not sure I would want to loose the headroom but it does look cool. Red paint in engine bay, white paint on bonnet, and that wiring means some serious work would be need to be put in to get it pristine but it would always be very unique

One glance tells you its a replica, the ad says it's a '79 924 turbo. Someones gone to town on a 931! thats an AIR carrera GTS front valence and a le mans rear spoiler. By the looks its got 4 wheel discs and fuchs. The badge panel is a bit gash. no idea whats going on with the roof chop but i think it would tidy up quite nice if you have serious time and money. not worth 6k though.

wow, roof chop is shocking ! i cant put in words what i feel about it...its like seing a man with 3 arms...you always wondered how one would look like but you're freaked out about seeing it

jokes aside there is some money into stuff on that thing.
-Rear hatch looks like lexan
-Rear spoiler looks expensive as well.
-It has GTS rear arches not GT ones, so those are rare and expensive
-hood nostrle looks ok
-front bumper is a copy but could be made to look ok if going for original look

Other than that, there are many bits and pieces that are valueable to the market...including the now rare 924 turbo engine.

Car is 10 minutes from my home, if it was $2500 I would take a look at it. $2700 worth of work done by a shop, I could have made that car look very nice with that money he just dumped into it.

Strike spending any $$$ on it, I would part it out instead, and spend the $2700 on my 951.

Yea the hatch is Lexan - because it would have to be. A one-off glass piece to fit the chop-top would cost probably upwards of 7k!

What's the difference?

GTS cars sit lower so wings have deeper wells and are taller.

fiily, you're 10 minutes away. Go check it out and let us know what you find out. You never know they just might come down in price just to move it.

I'm local and I'd be interested in it for some parts, but no where near that price.

Time to go offend someone and their asking price!

Anything you would like me to ask Bob specifically?
