yeah, that '2.2' would be pretty nice if it didn't have switches cut into the shifter surround

I have never seen a MPG "guilt gauge" on a 944 before. Was that an option or something?

(it's on the rare 2.2...)

my old '87 924S and my '86 NA have/had the MPG gague . . . ironically right where the boost gauge resides on my OTHER cars.

I'm glad I don't have the MPG guage.......With todays gas prices, I don't need to do math while driving.

yeah my brother's 328i has a MPG guage. It's only good for one thing, distracting you while you're driving.

The 85.5 cars have BOTH of those annoying features. I deleted both of those on mine when I ordered white gauge faces. There is much less distraction going on there now.....

I never really understood the upshift lights in these cars... If you drive by them, you bought the wrong car!

Does it really work? I only ask because I get better mileage on my VW when I ignore that light...

yeah it does work, and it doesn't come on when you're accelerating quickly, i think it's throttle dependent. I noticed if i shift before the light, my rpms drop down way below the power curve, and into the unusable rpm.
