Default I'm back...didn't take long

After selling my little Nile Green 944 N/A, the separation anxiety go to me and I found this little gem for a song and plan to start learning the differences between the turbo and the N/A. Long range plan is to dress it up in Martini and Rossi race graphics.

Welcome back good sir!! Any good options on the 951?? I didn't think it would take long for you to get another one. Nile green is ultra rare. Sorry you had to sell the car.

I think this will be more fun to fix up and dress in race gear. Time will tell.

Boy, there's a lot of stuff (no surprise) in this car that wasn't done according to accepted standards. That's ok, though. Just more items on my checklist. Learning curve on Turbo's is going rapidly upward. Distributor cap only locked down with one screw (and the engine ran), power mirrors replaced and not wired in, Brembo brakes but shot and tires too old. I expected to rebuild the brakes and buy new tires anyhow. A/C tired, no radio reception (someone replaced the windshield with one with no antenna inside). White gauge dials that aren't compatible with the gauge, covering most of the warning lights. Looking for new dial faces or gauge cluster for that. It just goes on, but that's my thing.

It's been far from fun so far. Parts for brakes: ended up with 4 front rotors. Seems my car has an early design that included a hub/spacer connected to the rotor and it took a big hammer to separate the two after the screws were removed. Nothing on you tube about this and the part number for the hub/spacer doesn't exist. Getting a lot of great support from folks here on the forum and it helps me feel like I'm not out here alone. One step at a time in getting things right and reliable. So far, new tires, ignition, Zimmerman drilled rotors and Hawk pads, brake fluid system flush when the rear rotors come in, new fuel filter and a replacement transaxle coiled oil cooler, compliments of F1rocks. Lots of other electrical silly stuff that takes up valuable time.

Factory manual shows proper procedure for all models and distinguishes the differences between model years. There's a lot of bogus info on YouTube, so be careful.

Are you talking about the hub, which the front wheel mounts to, that is attached to the rotor with 5 [10mm?] bolts?

If so, that hub, left and right, for your '86 951 is 951.341.065.00.

The hub's fine. It was just locked to the rotor with corrosion. With some nut blaster and a substantial smack with a 6# hand sledge it came loose. After cleaning up the mating surfaces, it went together with the new hub, no sweat.

Thanks for taking the time to provide the info.

Depending on environmental conditions, that's been known to happen.

Happy to hear you're back on the road.
