Question Psgr-side Motor Mount Heat Shield same as Drvr's-side?

I received a motor mount heat shield for the passenger side of the car, but it looks nothing like the one that's currently on the driver's-side of the car.
The driver's-side one looks like a grill-type thing.

Can someone please confirm? Thanks!

If someone has a photo of this piece, it would be very helpful. My car is missing the passenger side heat shield and the new passenger side motor mount I installed 30,000 miles ago seems to be overdue for replacement.

You only got 30K out of a motor mount... I am guessing it was an aftermarket one?

Well, having just done my motor mount's, I had the opportunity to get quit familiar with just about everything under the engine. The passenger side is indeed different. I can get some pics of them later today if you want. The nice thing is that they only take a minute (literally) to remove and install.

If you want to see a photo of some motor mounts that were "overdue for replacement", check out my post here.

Actually, 30K miles might be about right for a factory mount if there was no heat shield. That exhaust can really cook them fast. I think some aftermarket ones are solid rubber, so they should last a bit longer. They just transmit more vibration than the fancy factory fluid-filled ones.

I am in the proccess of doing my motor mounts but my car didn't come with a driver's side heat shield. I have the one for the passenger side that connects to the crossmember, is there supposed to be one on the driver's side?

I did buy the aftermarket motor mounts, however I'm fairly certain that the current iteration of the factory motor mounts are also not fluid filled.

When I replaced the mounts, I didn't realize that I was missing the passenger side heat shield, though it is obvious now. Additionally, it seems reasonable for a modified 951 to go through motor mounts faster than a standard na 944.

I'm definitely replacing them with factory parts. I wish the supermounts weren't so damn spendy.

ahofam123, only the turbo cars require heat shields on the left side.
