We had to do some minor dremel work on the block and cover to get them to fit right in on my '83..Hope they work well as expected..how is everyone else doing with their seals? just wondering...Spencer?
I have easy access at the moment to do both balance seals - neither are leaking but it appears someone added silicone or something similar to the ends.
Is it worth doing these as preventative maintenance, and if so, how long until the OEM ones tend to fail vs expected life of these custom ones?

Sorry,totally missed this question.
Stock are imo bad design and eventually leak, maybe not it few years, but all non rebuilt 944 engines I've worked on had small or big leak there.
These custom seals are made out of best available viton seal material, tiny bit oversized and use all available sealing surfaces. Material itself should last at least as long as factory O rings but can not flatten out like stock since it is already flat.
