Installed the LED bulbs today, thanks again for the wright up.

i had to switch a couple of bulbs around and tweak some tabs to get them to start to work. On a test drive I noticed the “!” Light did flicker briefly a couple of times when I left from a stop..I will keep an eye on it. I also noticed that the check oil level light is not working so I might have to pull it apart again to see if there is a contact issue.

overall along with re covering the dash light tubes I am very pleased with the results.

I had a issue with the "!" light doing a quick flash. Eventually changed it back to a original bulb, not issues since. It may have to do with the airbag being removed and triggering a fault. I noticed a few times after switching to LEDs that the airbag light would flash sometimes after start up or driving at night. Haven't seen it since switching back to the original bulb in the "!" light.

This ultimately is probably due to the reduced current needed to power the LED--the stock bulb wouldn't light up with the small amount of current that is probably being sent through that bulb.

I do recall mine doing that periodically but it didn't bother me that much. It's been a while since I've had a chance to drive my S2 since my kid was born..

Damn you - just ordered myself a set of LEDs from a different supplier in the UK, will see what they come out like!

I previously fitted the Jager Engineering kit but LEDs have come a long way in the ten years since!

This may have been asked before, but how do you get all of your indicator lights to illuminate at one time?

I also converted to LEDs per this thread and the warning ! light would blick on/off. Changed this blub back to the original bulb and it solved the blicking issue. If you do this upgrade I would not recommend changing out the warning light to an LED bulb.

Turn ignition to 1st or 2nd position to see all gauge lights.

Thumbs up

I have my cluster out to replace a broken odometer gear. This post is extremely helpful. Thank you.

Has anyone tried using a different color temperature for the LED upgrade, rather than pure white? I think I’d like to get the same “incandescent-bulb-looking” amber glow, rather than a purer white. I do it when I’m upgrading old home stereo equipment, it keeps a retro feel while improving visibility and durability.

Yes - this is what I did. Used the LEDs at the following: 194 LED Landscape Light Bulb - 5 LED - Miniature Wedge Retrofit - 30 Lumens - Warm White (superbrightleds.com)

Can anyone tell me where to find the molex connector referenced in Clark's procedure? I can't find it and based on the description ("Under the dash on the passenger's side of the vehicle (LHD cars), you'll find a white Molex connector with three female pins") in the Clark's writeup, I assumed it would be easy to spot.
