Default 968 brakes same as 951?

Are the 968 stock brakes the same as the 951's?
Thanks!

Thanks!
When people swap late offset 944/924S to the 968/951 bigger brakes do they generally do front and back?
Thanks!

Yes, same as a "regular" turbo - not the M030 big brakes (928S4's) in the front. Just looked at a 968 last night with stock suspension (non M030) and it had the smaller 951 4 piston brembo brakes in front.

A 968 with the M030 sport suspension should have the big brakes though... confused yet?

Yes I would switch both front and back calipers.
I have done so on my 87 N/A. I needed to get the front steering knuckle from a 951, S2, or 968 though as the front calipers will not bolt right up. The rears will go right on though.

And just to confuse it a bit more, the M030 big brakes actually became standard and not part of the M030-package on the 89 - 91 models

968 M030 also had cross drilled rotors and a bit larger diameter rotor rear.

The big brakes were indeed part of the M030 for the MY89 since the M030 was "stock" this year, not for the MY90 & MY91 though.

Hehe but how do you know that they didn't remove the big brakes from the M030-package in '89 and made them standard?

Sorry...I just had to!

Hehe simply because non-M030 MY90 & MY91 S2 did not have the big brakes as standard.
The big brakes were standard on MY90 & MY91 951 but were part of the M030 on the MY90 & MY91 S2 only !
To put it another way, the M030 option on the MY90 & MY91 S2 did include the big brakes, but the M030 option on the MY90 & MY91 951 did not include the big brakes.

Cheers !

But, was the MY88 944 Turbo S equipped with the M030-package or was these things included in the "plain" 944 Turbo S-standard-package and then later on was put together in a sports package M030?

In that case, you could say that the MY88 Turbo S have the big brakes as standard and not as a part of a package!?

Excellent question.
Given that the M030 of the MY86&87 951 did not have the big brakes, I believe the big brakes were reserved to 250hp 951, so the only thing we can actually say is that the M030 contents varies with the model - like you said above, the M030 of the 968 was the only M030 to include drilled discs.
