Good to know either way. The headlight switch is also prone to melting and causing a fire through faulty grounding and contacts in the headlight circuit. I'll give my a/c relay a check for good measure!

Too many things to worry about catching fire with these cars, why I got a sweet extinguisher that's safe on electronics and doesn't leave residue like dry chem...

DO NOT buy a dry chemical extinguisher or you will have a mess to cleanup after a fire, beyond the actual fire damage. However, it is better than no extinguisher!

The best one is a "Halon" or Halotron" type. It effectively sprays an oxygen depleting and cooling liquid/mist/vapor on the fire and is extremely effective at quenching a gasoline fire. They are available in 3 and 5 lb extinguishers (and bigger if you want).

This is the type that is typically used in server rooms and locations where delicate equipment is adjacent to the fire. Race cars also use them in onboard systems.

The Halotron type is several times more expensive but effective without making a mess.

Remember, they aren't making these cars anymore.

What about dry powder? I need to check to see what type mine is.
