1. No idle control. Just the ol' right foot.
2. I wired my clutch switch to the Ms, but I don't do anything with it yet. It's a pretty easy wiring job as I recall, just on your back in the driver's footwell.
3. I plan on doing the speedometer sensor too. Let me know where you tap into the wire and which wire it is. Should be pretty straightforward once you find it.

What sort of power are you guys making out of S2's with a MS setup?

I recommend MS over VEMS these days, but Mr. VEMS reportedly got over 200whp with that speed-density ECU mapped out well.

I would hope so, we make 200 RWHP with the AFM.

The VEMS seems to be non-existent here in NZ, one guy tried it with his turbo, never got it to run right, several tuners gave up and he dumped it.
MS is very prevalent here, with a large rotary scene. I'm in particular wanting to know what sort of outputs the MS guys are getting.

I'm getting a cam sensor fault on my ms3pro. What are the settings for it with the 60-2 flywheel?

Thanks

A lil more info on your setup and the type of fault you are getting might help?

Well it doesn't have a fault anymore though I'm not sure why.

I think now my issue is the flexfuel sensor and fuel requirements. Does the flexfuel sensor get 5v or 12v+? I have read to wire it both ways, nownits 5v but I'm thinking it should be 12v.

Since it is ignite e85 race fuel, do I still put 14.7 AFR? E85 AFR is 9.76.
It will start for 5-10 seconds or so.

I'D love to get someone's msq. My email is my username at g mail

Thanks
Pete

2.5 cut crank and lightweight rods
Wosner pistons
Ported head
Stage 3 rs barn cam
Custom intake and exhaust
3" DP and exhaust
1000cc injectors
MS3PRO ECU
PTE 5858 turbo
44 mm tial wastegate
968 style aluminum flywheel
Tilton 7.25" dual disk clutch
5R LSD transaxle

I did a ms2 about 15 years ago on a xr4ti of mine and I don't remember much from that to this. I still need to tighten the hoses and put coolant in to run it longer. Still quite a relief that I assembled the whole engine and degreed in the cam with no flywheel markings. What a pain that was.

Ok doing some more messing around and apparently the cam fault never went away. I tried to bypass the vr conditioner board since it is a hall effect sensor, with no difference. What would be a way to test the output? Of the sensor? I tried rising edge, falling and poll with no change.

Another question. I bought a 55 gal drum of e85 ignite race fuel. The output of the flexfuel sensor reads that it is 70%. by the gauge in tunerstudio. I don't see how that is possible. It's was just cracked open and the fuel system was completly empty so it is just new e85 fuel. The sensor is a new continental, hooked to switched 12v+, sensor ground and the flexfuel input.

Thanks
Pete

For a hall effect sensor, it should be outputting a square wave voltage. Maybe use an LED to test? (One leg to common ground, other leg has an alligator clip to sensor output. Noting that LEDs are polar and can't be wired backward.) Also curious if that type of hall sensor needs a pull-up resistor between the 5v power wire and the signal output wire. A lot of them require that.

For the flex fuel sensor, have you verified the calibration in Tuner Studio? May be the wrong curve.

Anyone using the cam sensor from Clewett using a pull up resistor?

I just ordered a ethanol tester to double check my fuel.

Thanks all

Been studying your thread here for quite awhile. I have a 951 with the engine being rebuilt out of car. Back to complete bone stock - street car (no track use). I do, however, see that the conversion to MS will allow for some unique opportunities to bring some of the systems into the 21st century and provide much more control.

My thoughts are:
1. MSv3 setup.
2. new wiring harness as has been suggested here.
3. Eliminate the DME relay with the setup that Michael used.
4. Have the MS control the cooling fans - maintain two stage by using two outputs - one at lower temp trigger through resistors and one at full blast.

I want to keep A/C and cruise control - how do these systems need to be integrated?

I also am wondering how to integrate the Aux Water pump for the turbo. The circuit seems to touch both the DME relay, fuel pump and DME itself. How has everyone integrated this into the setup? Does MSv3 have a timer feature for an output that will maintain the 25 sec. pulse when power is removed. I imagine the coolant temp circuit on the MSv3 could be used through a third relay to turn the pump on based on temp.

Thanks all -

Does anyone here know of another source for a 944 36-1 trigger wheel? I tried ordering from goingsuperfast.com and after 2 weeks of hearing nothing or seeing the wheel showing up I asked PayPal for a refund. Is goingsuperfast.com dead?

I had the exact same result - never any contact.
I ended up getting one from diyautotune. It’s 6 3/4”.

I had to open up the center to allow the PS pulley to fit.
