Got the intake manifold on yesterday and am awaiting my new cam box so that I can install it and the belts together. Can't wait to get this car back on the road! Will post pics in a bit.

Well here's where I'm at. Its been slow due to work and side jobs that I've taken in to fund my two current restorations. The previous owner said that the water pump and timing belt were replaced three years ago. They do look to have been replaced recently. However, the when I spin the impeller on the water pump, I can hear bearing noise and there is a slight amount of play in the pump bearing. I think while I'm this far in, I may as well just replace the water pump. More cheap insurance I guess..well not so cheap. So, while I think I could get some miles out of the current pump, I am just going to replace it and be done with it and not worry about it. Guess its time to spring for that balance shaft locking bar..

While I'm waiting on a cam gear woodruff key, I figured that I would do the balance shaft seals, front oil pump seal and probably the water pump. It looks like there was a lot of leakage for several years. Time to get that all sorted out and cleaned up. I want to make this car as reliable as I can. I know the water pump was replaced a couple years ago, but I can hear a little bearing noise in it and it has a tiny amount of play. While I'm this far in, I may as well just do it all. I'm excited to drive the car but I want to take it slow, not rush through things and do it right.

You'll have to excuse my messy workbench, lol. I finished a cam box rebuild for the 86 and am just waiting on a new woodruff key for the cam sprocket. Once that comes in I will install it and post more pics:

Here's where I'm at, awaiting a new water pump and balance housing nose:

But I made a mistake and did this when trying to replace the left balance shaft seal:

Do any of the parts cars you have have an evo I or evo II valence?

Dave, would you wish to give us an update on this car ?

Do you still have it ?

How did the 'title thing' turn out for you ?

Don, I unfortunately no longer have the car. One of the many things that had to go when I lost my job back in 2015. It went to an enthusiast home and I really wish I did not have to sell the car. It was the cleanest 944 that I have ever owned. I will say that once I had it back together following my last post in this thread, the car ran and drove so well. I still have my 85/2 M456 car. I would be hard pressed to sell it. I am planning another round of work on it and will be updating the thread for that car as I progress through working on it.
