difference between na and turbo handling?

Why would you even bother to post if "it depends' is the sum of your knowledge? Nice sig, too.
The turbo is a much different car. The suspension is set up to handle the extra power and torque of the turbo car. The S model carries this even further with larger sways and brakes, as well as other improvements. If your car is stock, I would suggest starting with a few AutoCross events to improve your driving skills first, as the NA has more handling ability than 90% of drivers can tap anyways.
After that, you can always go to Koni's or Bilsteins, and spend thousands if you wish.
My money says get some improvement for the nut behind the wheel, its money well spent.

The difference between the handling of my stock '86 and my stock '89 (basically an "S") was huge, but I guess most would figure that out on their own.

I had a 944 NA before getting my 951. The NA actually feels more nimble in normal driving, but its handling limits are quite a bit lower than the 951. It does have very good handling "feel" however. The Turbo's handling feels a bit more numb and sluggish at lower speeds, with more understeer, but becomes progressively more neutral under power. Power oversteer can be provoked under boost. However, the Turbo has a stiffer suspension, with a lot less body roll, much higher tire grip, and much higher cornering limits. Of course, all these comments are comparing stock to stock.

Stock for stock, the S2 and 951 have basically the same components, so if you're not in the scenario I mention above, they're pretty much equal.
Just my biased $0.42,

No
The 944S2 is inferior, the 944 turbo is the best!!!
What is it with the S2's oversized 4 cylinder? It's like they took the chevy route "what, you want more power? lets make it BIGGER!" The S2 isn't a REAL Porsche because of that...
hehehe... just kidding
I agree with Zoltan's comments though.
He went for a ride with me at an autox...and coming out of a corner he was saying "GO, GO GO"...and im just like.. "It's going, its going...give it a second will ya??" And then just as the boost started to come up it was time to turn again...

"difference between na and turbo handling? "
Nahhhh, all those parts listed in Water944T's picture doesn't do a single thing to improve the Turbo's handling! With the production winding down, Porsche had all this extra inventory of parts laying around, so they decided to throw it on the Turbo models to clear out the warehouse!
As for driving a Turbo in auto-x, there's a technique often used by rally-drivers that you have to master. That's left-foot braking! This allows you to pump the throttle under braking to keep the turbo spooled up. Then a fraction of a second before you release the brake at the turn-in point, you floor the gas. With practice and timing, you have max-boost and acceleration right as you release the brake.
Trail-braking is another technique that does wonders for lowering lap-times, but that's a whole other topic to be hotly debated... heh, heh...

A 944 NA handles much better.......
Hahahahaha.........yeah right......
But seriously after been in Adrials car his car is definatly more stiff than mine "was" (at the time my setup was stock) and it seemed as if it could handle high speed manuveers much better than the NA but my car did seem more nimble at lower sppeds and much easier to "throw" into a corner....-chris

there is no factual proof to back up my argument but based on my many personal experiences with both cars I like the NA in the 'quick turn' department. When it comes to a long stretch of freeway off ramp, the 951's brakes, suspension, and power are way superior to the NA.
Anyone else understand what i'm trying to say?
