Default RUF factory tour

Just so you all know... *Michael* and I are going to the RUF factory this Saturday. I'm taking my wife also. It's her birthday and I don't think that she really wants to go that much, but she understands. So, if you see us Saturday evening, hopefully we will have soiled ourselves by then after seeing the place. I'll see what pictures and video they will let us take and I'll post it on Sunday.

Does anyone have any questions they'd like me to ask???

As the 944 turbo came into play, "Why, with such easy modifications possible, did RUF not build a RUF 944 turbo"?

Few friends visited RUF just a while ago... apparently it's well worth the trip! I guess I'm a bit envious

Ask about the 944 turbo if you get the chance, it would be interesting to know...

As the 944 turbo came into play, "Why, with such easy modifications possible, did RUF not build a RUF 944 turbo"? Please ask this question.. I'd really like to hear Alois's opinion on the 951.. I suspect his answer will be that there was not enough money in it, or that it would not have been on par with the other Rufs.

Also, if it's your wife's B-day, asides from whatever normal b-day present she's gonna get, while at Pfafenhausen, see if she likes any of the RUF apparel..(ruf sweater, etc..) if would probably make her a bit more positive about the experience..

Yeah I am so excited about this. I wonder how Alois would feel if I drove the Turbo Miata instead of the 944

Mike, don't let me forget to ask about the 951. My guess is like what rich said, there just wasn't enough money in it and it would take a lot more work at the time to compete with the 911T.

I would love to tour the Ruf factory. Somebody had some pictures of a 968 in there...maybe you could find out if that 968 was receiving anything special or just normal maintenance.

Have fun! And take pictures if you can.

I asked him when I was there three years ago. He basically likes the car, but he specializes in the air coolers of that time. Until the 996 came out they didn't even have a place to dyno test the engines requiring water cooling. They added that when the 996 engines came out.

Basically he's a car guy, but his main preference was and still is the 911 series cars.

Dal.
