Default Cup 1 ,16"wheels, what tire size do I need

I did a search and wasn't able to find my specific question.

Picked up some club sport wheels 16x6.5 and 16x8.5 without rubber. I was just wondering what tire size would work for my 1989 S2.

**EDIT** they are Cup 1 wheels

They never made club sports in 6.5 or 8.5. However the stock tire size for the club sports fitted to the turbo s and s2 was: 225/50 in the front and 245/45 at the back.

Yep.

Clubsports came in 16x7, 16x8, and 16x9.

D90s (similar looking cast version) came in 16x6, 16x7, 16x8, and 16x9.

As for the tires, the tires are hard to find. Bridgestone makes them in the RE11.

Take care,

245 is harder to get now so you may have to resort to 205/225 depending on which tire you want to run.

Oups my bad they are Cup 1 wheels. This is the Rennlister I purchased the wheels from and where I found the size.

Picked up some RE960AS 245/50 for $56 a piece. Bridgestone is getting rid of this size.
