f l ü s s i g ' s website is ready to go!!!
We've done it.
Shawn Stanford, Leo Dijkstra (dutch 928 fan), Mike Heyse (courtshark), Jason Gonzalez, Derrick Bass, and myself have launched flüssig's website.
We'll be posting 924 928 944 968 content there regularly from owner's reports, featured cars, editorials, DIYs, technical; in short, anything related to the early water-cooled cars.
It's been a long road and we've all worked really hard to get this far, but we've still got loads to do...like laying out our first print "coffee table" magazine. This part of the project will no doubt be the most fun to do since it'll be a departure from the norm.
We want to give everyone here a HUGE thanks for your continued support, enthusiasm, and most of all, your contributions. And since flüssig will be in a perpetual state of evolution, there'll be lots of tweaks and changes we'll be making along the way to make it even better.
Take a look:

Feel free to give as feedback while we're touching up a bit.

Thanks Tank!
I like the idea, and want to see you guys do well - after all, it will be your content that decides your success in the end. However I do have some thoughts for the site.
The slider -
Moves very slow, timing for delay and transition could be optimized.
Timers do not pause when interacting... it will still try to slide on its own when you are moving it with the mouse.
The slides do not link to the content that they represent.
Doesn't seem to work at all on my android 4.1 tablet. https://i.imgur.com/AIDO1Fjh.png
The menu -
Sub-menu on articles, etc will slide out then the page will immediately navigate when using a touch-screen (tablet)
Content -
Design your content!
In magazines, if you have spent a long time writing an article, you'll include some kind of interesting visual treatment. Whether it be an image, or breaking up the copy into some design. Online, it is key to design your information architecture.
- Use headings, varied blocks, font-sizes, weights, aside-references, etc to break up your content.
- Contextual links to sources or related articles will help you in search-rankings, and credibility. They can also serve as visual cues.
- Define a style guide for your various types of content/information - Lists, images, quotes, related information. A guide is more than just a style sheet. http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2010...-and-websites/
Bugs -

Without getting too deep into copyright law and other usage rights. Just be careful of the content you use, this can sometimes get you blacklisted or should you use them, get you in trouble with advertisers.
It would also be helpful to tag anything with large images of women's behinds as NSFW.

The technical bugs are things we're trying to work out with the software editor. There are lots of little things that need to be sorted one at a time until everyone gives us the thumbs up on the platform they're using.
As for designing the content, this is exactly what I did on the first digital examples of how I wanted the magazine laid out. I put a lot of thought on positioning, graphics, fonts, layout design, etc. But then I stepped away from it and thought about this whole business of slick creativity like I did here:
http://data.axmag.com/data/201310/20...ASH/index.html
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-fluessig.html
You know what? It seems that this is the direction everyone seems to be taking, and quite frankly, I think it's too much eye pollution, to much vying for the most creative presence. I decided on a more minimalist approach...to have a bit more air. I completely understand your point, though.
I certainly need to tweak this approach a bit more with the software. But rest assured, the idea I have for the print version will be totally refreshing and not be just another exercise of "who's got the slickest layout." One look on a magazine shelf will make it clear that some are trying too hard to be unique.
Anyway, lots of work to do still. It's input like yours that allows one to look at different angles of approach...it's sincerely appreciated!

Agreed, scroll speed is very slow, but nice!
