Footwell lights???

Agreed, it should be relatively easy.
I'd like to do something that looks like it might have been designed as part of the interior rather than some cheesy add on. I did see these on eBay and thought they might work fairly well if they could be easily incorporated into the footwell side panel.

I found that these small LED's worked well. Easy to install under the dash on both sides. . Come in colors and work with my alarm system. https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ent-light/639/. It's not as bright as the pictures looks....

at the time of the 944, Porsche did not go for the "airplane cabin" look of the interiors of the new cars - they went for Germanic Simplicity. No Porsche prior to the current generation would be caught anywhere with cup holders, interior lights, or special accessories to pipe the sound of the intake into the cabin to give you a "sports" sound (yes, this is how it works on the new 911s). Porsche at that time would have rejected this as the height of idiocy.
well, that's my opinion anyway.

I recall reading years ago that the reason German cars didn't have cupholders was because German auto engineers and the companies were adamant that people need to focus on driving and not be distracted by eating. A few even felt that radios shouldn't be included for this reason too!
BTW, I'm thinking about footwell lights not because it might modernize the car but for ingress and egress. It's nice to see where you are going. For the price, I think I'll give these a try. http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...ight-black/25/

I'm thinking of the same type of thing. Installing a little light is no big deal, but it appears there would be a lot of unbundling of the harness to get to the circuits they need to hook into?

He could wire it up to a switch and put that in the center console, kinda odd to have a switch on a foot light, but might work.
Could have it wired to the ignition +12 on the radio, but that would only give you a light when the car is on, not when fumbling for keys.
The best idea that I've got is to pull the side carpet on the passenger/driver side and grab that ground switch on the door. Wire your LEDs to a +12 from the centrally located radio and then the door switch will turn them on. A lot of wires, but there are plenty of places to hide wires under that dash, trust me :P
Overall not a bad idea, I say go for it. I'm a stickler on the orange "bulb" color, so I'd have to go with actual bulbs unless I could find a decent shade of LEDs that aren't a harsh orange. I'm not a fan of having two different colors of light in the cabin.

I removed my single DIN stereo and installed a 5 channel amp in my trunk that I plug my phone into for music. So I had a switched, and constant 12v from the radio that I wasn't using anymore. I took the ground and constant to wire in a 2nd cigarette lighter. I have a 4 way, lighter splitter that are individually on toggle switches that I can have on or off with the car off or on.
I have one for my phone charger, used to have one for a gps & radar, vape charger, and this http://static.pepboys.com/images/pro.../CZ-3051_1.JPG
I used that to plug in 5 LED strips. One in each foot well, one in each door card inside the useless compartment, and one under my instrument cluster. Its all in red which doesn't affect your nightvision at all.

There's a better way...I just installed a 10" strip of blue led's on each side footwell. It had an adhesive strip so easy peasy. On the connection, I hooked it up to the wires of the tiny light that illuminated the ash try in the console. That way the footwell lights are controlled by the interior light switch and goes off and on with the headlights. Btw, the blue is not objectionable, very low keyed but serves the purpose.
