If the rear hatch area was indeed that air-tight you could rotisserie at least 20 chickens in there while driving around town...what could go wrong?

if you actually fix the delaminated glass, you won't have wind noise nor exhaust. If you put any of the reflective glass treatments on the rear hatch you will cut the heat load by about 80 to 90%. I just don't understand why people want to modify the car rather than fix what is a routine maintenance problem. It will cost you $20 in materials to fix that hatch correctly, and about a day of labor. Then it will seal properly.

the thread about "how to" has not elicited great confidence in resealing, but i concede you are correct about this being the solution.

im looking for another hatch to have while resealing my original one, so that might be as far as this goes.

although if that doesnt work....
