I bet I'd cut down on the number of rock chips in my car id I got a set. I can't really resist a little hooning down a gravel road with mine.

The link Spenser posted is where I got mine. I believe my car had them on the last time I saw you Curtis at the San Diego Meet. The only thing I wish was they were rubber and not plastic. I bent one on a speed bump :/

Instead of $40 for each PAIR (sounds crazy to me) why don't people just rig up their own rubber ones either custom or by modding universal truck ones or something?

Because molded flaps are made to fit the fender/quarter of whatever vehicle they're going on.The universal ones are just a flat sheet. It all depends on what sort of look you want.
