Default 16v 944 needed for software design project

An ECU design company (see link below) is looking for a 16 valve 944 to finish development of a tune-able ECU replacement for the 944S and 944S2.

The car must be running using a stock engine harness.

They are located in Georgia

Contact: websales@diyautotune.com

I just posted this because they stated that they needed a car to complete the ECU kit.

I would rather support someone who is active in the community. Maybe they are, but I don't see a representative on these forums. I would support a business that is active to the community and peaks their head out of the tunnel like I see that emoticon all the time.

The video seems to display their passion but why the 944? seems out of place imo. great that they are doing it, but what is the reason? "untapped market"?

Hmmm, who else would you support that offers a product like this for our
cars? As far as I know the only thing even in the ballpark is the proposed
unit from Roque that replaces the mass air flow sensor. As nice as this unit
sounds and the fact that it is brought to us from a great vender it is not a
programmable unit like the MegaSquirt is.

I have used MegaSquirts in a few of my cars, from my drag race only 750chp
Dodge Neon to my street turbo minivan project. DIY has been a great
resource for both knowledge and parts.

A quick story about there service. I purchased a display for my MS2. It was
supposed to display like a digital dash. I got the unit installed and just
wasn't happy with the way it performed, just not what I was looking for.
First DIY replaced the unit with a fresh one, still not happy then offered a
full refund. This is the kind of customer service I look for in a vender.

Once DIY gets this unit into production I plan on buying one for my toy.

Redoing the harness would also add sequential injection and maybe future sequential ignition with 4 coils.
Re: reluctor, does it need to have the "gap tooth" or would 40, evenly spaced notches work for a signal? There is some cam gear that is not covered by the timing belt in normal operation, be easy to drill a sensor through the gear cover.
