Thanks od, it's been a lot of work. At your request, here's some more pictures:

This is showing the lower rad mount I had to fab up to accommodate the Turbo rad I installed. I kept my NA fans and just made some small tabs to pick up the existing mounting holes. Also shows the K&N filter that I still need to fab a shroud for.

This shows the Bosch bypass valve setup and also the custom MAF housing I made up.

My current project, the AEM UEGO wideband o2.

This is a good overhead shot of the SC showing the boost gauge fitting, also note the SS upper rad hose and the cranckcase vent inlet on the SC inlet.

This shows my header and the challenges of piping it up under the car. It's a nice piece but man is it close to the engine.

overhead shot of the header.

Today I hope to have the exhaust and wideband in. Gonna go watch the Italian Grand Prix now.

Nothing was bent. It's all done with mandrel bent elbows and TIG welded together.

This is what I did today, installed the wideband o2 bung in the header and built a 2.5" SS midpipe. It's on the car now and I am wiring up the narrowband o2 and hopefully going to fire it up!

It's alive!!! I just drove it around the street. Sounds incredible with the header and exhaust and the blower whine is fantastic! I only gave it part throttle and it pulls hard. Love it!

props to Joshua at Rogue Tuning. Without his MAF and tune, this project doesn't happen.

I only drove it around the street last night. can't answer any mileage or drive-ability questions just yet. I do plan on taking it to the dyno to have it tuned and see what kind of power it makes.

throttling before the supercharger lets you control the air volume a lot easier, that blower is very powerful and moves a lot of huff. the bypass valve would let the sc freewheel when under part throttle and you'd basically be driving a normal 944 until you got your foot into it enough to close the bypass.

Wrong. The bypass valve shuts as soon as theres little to none vacuum. so as soon as you accelerate, the vacuum will go to 0. and the BPV will be shut.
Put a stiffer spring it'll shut under more vacuum.

watch out for water pick up from that air filter location, i had a car alarm horn in that area on my S and it regularly got filled up with water, just be aware it gets in there.

I got the AEM Air/Fuel wideband o2 setup tonight so I can see how rich it is at the moment. I am experiencing a weird issue. It'll start no problem, then all of a sudden, for no apparent reason, it dies. Then it won't restart for a bit. I wait a few minutes and it fires right up. Twice I have noticed that when I slam the door or hood, it dies. makes me think something electrical is loose.

Weird.

Next up, Data logger.

but what is to stop air from getting to the back of the blower and being compressed and blown into the throttle plate if the air entering the blower is unrestricted?

Just like a turbo.. If you pull the by pass valve from the return you can feel heaps of air passing through. just recirculates.

Some chargers have a clutch to turn it off like the one i have sitting at my shop.
