Post Torque Spec for Timing Belt Tensioner Bolts on 87

Okay. I was re-tensioning my timing belt today (it has been 15,000 miles). Anyway, I only have a Haynes manual, and it does not cover the torque spec for the 2 bolts on the triangular shaped timing belt tensioner. One of the bolts is what the arm pivots on, the over one sets it in a specific position.

If someone could get me the torque specs that would be excellent.

Thank You

You're talking about the belt tensioner, with 3 identical looking bolts (alen), one being the banjo bolt that you mention right?

If so, they should be at 10Nm or 7.5lbs/lb same for all 3.

Well, hold on, the triangular tensioner (spring loaded)... This would be on a 1987 944 S? Is yours an 8v, or 16v?

Well. I am talking about the late style belt tensioner. I don't remember what it is bolted to the block with. Anyway. On it's face, their are 3 easily visible nuts. One holds a sprocket on. One is a pivot point for the tensioner. The last one goes through a curved slot in the tensioner. Is this a banjo bolt? The two nuts I need torque specs for are 13mm.

Thanks

My post above should apply. (make sure they're alen bolts to be positive, but that spec's for the later style (that originally came on 16v engines).

Hope this helps,
Ahmet

Thanks for your help. But they are not allen bolts. They are normal (six sided) 13mm bolts.

Anyone?

Tabor, the torque for the nut and bolt that you loosen to adjust tension on the upper right ,short leg, of the triangle plate on the later spring type tensioner is 20 Nm or about 14 to 15 ft pounds. By the way I always use The Tool (9201) to check the belt tension as the spring on mine just gets the tension in the ballpark.
hope this helps
