MOVIT Big Brake kit
MOVIT only list one size for the '86 turbo, and it happens to be 380mm= 15" rotor!! I called their US distributor, and was told that you must use 19" wheels. They told me to better off getting the 993TT setup. The '89 can't even run 18" safely and reliably, how are you supposed to run 19" on the '86?

Go with Big Reds, they are more than enough for our cars. You'll need 17 inch wheels, but they are cheaper (999.99 is the cheapest I have come accross) and they stop the car like you threw a anchor out the back.

Racers Edge Said they could do the kit for $999 with out brake pads. Or at least this is what he told me a couple months ago. I don't think they are listed on the website, but just give them a call.

If you plan to put these on a non ABS equipped car plan to spend some time experimenting with proportioning valves and/or bias valves. You will be way over braked in the front.
My 86 turbo track car had the proportioning valve removed and an adjustable bias valve installed. The bias is all the way to the rear and I still lock the fronts.
I think you need to add a little more brake to the rear with the Big Reds. Maybe move the stock fronts to the rear and take advantage of the larger pistons. Or install a set of 94 3.6 turbo rears. I did that on my 93 RSA along with Big Reds in front and had fantastic brakes.

sorry to be so confused, i wanted to do this too to my 86 turbo, now is the kit for only the front calipers or for the rear too? how dumb looking it would be having black and red calipers, right, also does the kit include 4 sets of adaptors or not? i also heard but never advertised 1000 dollar kits with big reds, but if i did it i want 4 big reds, or just big reds in front with bigger red calipers in rear, also want the pads in the package too if you listening tuners, lets start a kit, most 86 calipers are in need of rebuilding now anyhow, it make a nice fit for me

Most kits are usually just the fronts. Under hard braking they do about 85% of the work and unless you have figured out how to change fundamental physics, that is going to be the basic picture.
Big Red calipers themselves are about $500 for the pair. If you mess with the rears too much you will lose the parking brake. But since the fronts do so much of the stopping work, put the "Hand of God" up there along with a ducted cooling kit. I think these guys also offer a dual caliper kit. Two big reds on each front wheel.
If you want color match, get the rears bead blasted and powder coated red. Forget everyone that talks about another paint option. You are then in the camp of wondering "WHEN" the paint will fall off. Not if, when.

Many people (and places that offer these kits) use the 928 GTS calipers which are the same size as the BR's, and are black, not red...
Also, I wouldn't go above a 17" rim on these cars w/out changing the rear as I personally think the rear rotors would look pretty silly w/such small (comparably) rotors. I like my rotors to fill up the rims, and the 12" rotors match the 16" rims. I wanted to got to 17", but they're all so damn heavy (as are larger rotors, and I couldn't get anyone to help me get any that were made of lighter materials- only 2-piece which only save 1 or 2 pounds, and cost over 3 times as much). I finally gave up. The only rims I really like better than my Turbo S rims are the 968 17" rims (C2), and no one will weigh them for me to tell me their actual weight. Everyone say's they're "not too heavy, only 5-7lbs or so"- yeah right, 5 - 7lbs- "not too much heavier"- MY ***!!!
You might want to give KVR a call- they recommend the Turbo S calipers over the BR's, as do several other people now, although they are in the minority. KVR sells BR's too though. I'm going to get some cast drilled rotors (if Technodyne ever gets them back in stock) w/a 928 bias valve, SS lines, and leave my Turbo S alone, until I win the lottery, and then I'll get out of the Brembo scene altogether...
One advantage you have w/a normal Turbo, as was mentioned earlier, is that you can easily mount your front stock calipers to the rear of your car, and add GTS calipers (or BR's) up front. With the vast amount of kits out there, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a decent priced kit that includes 12.7" rotors and calipers, IF you have 17" rims- I think the 993 TT had 2-piece rotors, which should save a pound or two, and they're very plentiful, which shouldn't make them too unreasonable- this would probably be your best bet, w/the right bias valve...

Try these guys. I have no real experience with them but they look very reputable. They have complete kits w/adaptors for $1150 (4 wheels). If you send them cores, they drop to $600.

I've talked w/Michael (Prospeed) several times- he seems like a decent person to deal with, and is pretty knowledgable. Garrity Repta (Performance Auto Works of St. Louis) is another person, as well as Technodyne (Chris Cervelli), and KVR (Canada). These are the main people I would talk to for brakes parts & kits when it comes to knowledge, service, and price...
