Modern Blaupunkt--anyone have/like these?
I am kinda set on getting myself a new Blaupunkt Heidelberg CD player for my new ride, based on cost and tradition (two stupid factors when considering a sound system, but I am satisfied with a decent unit).
Anyone using this radio in their cars? Comments, flames, etc??

i have the casablance but from experience i personally like it. it is flashy but not overdone, and i got it for wicked cheap compared to radios of it's class. (originally 300, but got it for 200 'cause of sale at crutchfield)
radio reception always seems to be excellent on blaupunkts too. (look at the specs in crutchfield magazine) not to mention that they have numerous high voltage pre-amps if you ever need amps/changers/etc...

Do I like Blaus...........no not really! If you really are into audio there are MUCH better head units..check out the Eclipse or the Nakamichi or the Alpine, sorry guys but.....Some will know what I'm talking about, I know that there are some diehard Blau folks here but just because it was a stock unit doesn't mean it is the ****...Blaus are made by Robert Bosch Corp. thats like A GM unit for German (and other) cars.

My $.02: I have Blaupunkt subs, but only because they're the Blaupunkt's top end and I got 'em half off. My experience is they cut cost on their head units. Take it for what it's worth.

booster is correct. There are much better units. I have a sony that I love. I have heard most of the head units on the market and the blaus just don't do anything for me. Don't get me started on blau subs <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[nono]" />

Just thought I'd add that is totaly a personal choice. If you want a blau because it was once stock that is not that stupid. I will most likely sell my Momo wheel for a Sparco one that looks exactly the same just because I have sparco seats

Which Momo? What color? How much? Can I have it?
I'm running an AIWA CDC-MP3, I got it for like $220 off eBay back when they came out (May of last year). Sound quality, while not competition-wuality, is very good; the abilty to burn 15-20 albums on one CD has reduced clutter in my car unbelievably.
