Interesting is one way to put it. Makes me wonder the history of the car. Bet it has some stories behind it.

Thats what I'm thinking. At least get the mounts off that sucker and ebay them for profit. The engine and trans can stay, of course.

That mount design doesn't seem very safe...but it's a cool car and a neat find! Make sure you grab that header panel too

Interesting coolant box off on the passenger side. Someone put some work into it looks like an 80's quality level swap.

IIRC Renegade used to sell a 924 SBC crossmember that bolted to the sway bar mounts and the 924 factory crossmember...I saw one welded on once as well. If you pick the strong parts of the rails (or strengthen them)...go for it.

The bellhousing and flywheel/clutch would be nice items to grab too.

But usually v8 swaps are supposed to be hot items to sell, not junk to throw away at the wrecking yard, so I wonder what was so wrong with it.

Might be the "rusty faded 924" syndrome.

I'm curious if it's bolted up to the Porsche transaxle, or if they just cut the tunnel out, slapped a TH350 (GM trans) behind it, and then swapped in a rear axle...
