Default Crazy offset 944

Anybody have any idea what offset this guy is running on the rear? It's bonkers: http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/vie...p?f=17&t=33586

I wonder, what's the widest offset, front and rear, I could run on a set of BBS RSs with a mild 1" drop?

nice looking wheels but the car looks like it's on stilts.

Needs more low.

Let me help you out there.

those look like maybe 9" wide wheels...i have the one-piece version of those wheels in 8" and the lip is almost as big.

Those are ritzblitz's old wheels ,now bad_monkey's https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...6x9-16x10.html
Car can't be lowered any more because of the very low wheel offset ,it would rub like crazy.

Sure, if you like to keep the original bouncy suspension.
If the suspension was stiffened and the wheels slightly cambered in, you could lower the car a LOT more with a fender roll and not have any rub issues at all. That is a great looking car, especially with the wheels on it, but man, it is just screaming to be lowered!

They're custom BBS RS - the lips are 1" wider f/r and only just fit. I'm not running the factory spacer in the rear.

I bought them from RitzBlitz on this site.

The pics show before more lowering - and a little more camber.

Rub is nearly all gone due to successive persuasion of sheet metal - rolling and pounding the lip flat in the rear quarters, then flaring slightly using a jack and jig. I've rolled the front guards and spread them a bit by hand.

I'm going to lower again - moving into a new house with a bigger garage, so will drop the entire rear assembly and play with the ride height, camber (and consequently toe) until it's just right.

I'm not going for slammed/dumped/riding on the stops - I'd like to retain the ability to drive the car at speed on bumpy roads here in NZ.

Budget has been constrained by the house purchase, and I'm still waiting on some goodies in the mail, but I'll post back here with pics if anyone's interested.

Oh, and they are 10" rears, 9" fronts. Probably overkill, but much lighter than cup replicas I took off.

Thanks for the info guys. I have a crazy lowered Miata right now and I love the stance of the car but I want something I can drive without scraping.
