Talking Just purchased a bright lime green 83 944!

Ran across this sweet deal on Craigslist on the morning it was posted (just this past saturday). I called the guy, we spoke for about 5 minutes on the phone, and then I offered to pay him his asking price through bank deposit... Done! Sold! The deal was just too good to pass up on.

Here was the catch... Upon purchasing this extremely green 944, you also had to take ownership of his nearly complete 1984 944 parts car.... A 2 for 1 special!

So, now I'm working out the logistics of transporting both cars home in one shot, since they are 2.5 hours from home (and on the opposite end of Atlanta, a potential traffic nightmare). I should have them at my place by the coming weekend.

So for now, here are the only two pictures I have seen of the green car. Yes, it has Fuchs on it, and no it doesn't currently run. The owner seems to think it might be a blown headgasket. The included parts-car I have not seen any pictures of, but apparently it suffered an engine fire so the front end is charred.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited. I'll post more pictures this weekend or whenever the cars are delivered to their new home!

Enjoy.

I do dig lime green (peep my daily driver sneaking into the corner of my avatar)! That's a bit loud and you're bound to get some haters but I like it well enough. Be different!

You should have no problem finding it in a crowded parking lot!! Just kidding. I had a friend of mine paint his Harley-Davidson Lime green and purple and it won many awards. Have fun!

You sure do like that green. I recall you mentioning you wanted a signal green one like the gentleman in the UK when he posted his.

I love that color also, though Porsche signal green was a shade darker, right? Not sure about the green Fuchs centers, but that car looks clean...and green!

There is a cab company here in Tucson with neon green Toyota Prius fleet, I dont think anyone would notice my car if it was painted that color here!!!!

That would make an excellent 'Outlaw 944' project! Strip it, lighten it, drill holes, R-Gruppe the thing out.

Thanks dudes! I am just dying to see the car in person. It looks so neon like it belongs in a 90's electric light show!

Dave - If you have any pictures of that car, I'd love to see it!
PS - I just glanced at your avatar.. have you really been on RL since 2008 and this is your first post?!

Thanks Jeff. Yes I sure do love me some Signal Green! I'll have to compare this bright green 83 against my black 86 with the Signal Green wheels and all. It could just be the brightness from the dudes camera, but I think you're right, Signal Green is be a bit darker. I can't wait to actually check this car out in person!

I've actually been thinking about making this the 944 rally car project that I've always wanted to build... Depends if I end up keeping it or not. We shall see!

Thanks Ethan! I'm not sure just yet what I'll do with it. I still don't know what mechanical condition this thing is in, or how the interior is, but I'll try to use my better judgment to figure out a way to make the best of the car.

looks like you'll have to call this one the green goblin instead of the 951... or maybe even the hulk

The Jolly Green Midget (nee the Jolly Green Giant). I agree......make it a screamer. Maybe black or very dark grey wheel centers.
